If there were to be a Player Reviews Site?

If there were to be a successful online casino resource website that focused rankings of casinos based on player reviews/feedback, how would it need to go about this?

What features would players want (especially players who've been around the block) in order to view the rankings and reviews as reputable?

I'm wandering this because there doesn't seem to be a site online that focuses casino reviews around player reviews and feedback rather than which program offers the best affiliate incentives.

I believe Lots0 site does do just that basically. You can find him here...

I'm guessing you're asking me since you posted this here. It's already been done. Just post a casino name in this forum, and you'll get a review by both players and affiliates.

    Ask and you'll receive.

so what ur saying its straight up better to just talk about stuff in a forum rather than have an authority site that could actually greatly affect a casinos reputation with tons of player experience ratings and feedback for different aspects of any casinos they play or have played at...

and i guess the only way it would have a big impact is if it was very visible in search engines and word of mouth got around that it was actually a reputable review system...which seems almost impossible in an industry where many people get rich off of letting people give them there money.

What I am saying is why re-invent the wheel? Many people - players, affiliates, operators consider this an authoritative site. But if someone wants to try and put something like that together - by all means knock yourself out

I think it's an outstanding idea.....but it would take a ton of work. And if it was going to be geared ONLY towards players, there should be no advertising. No affiliate links, no media buy banners (IMO, an advertisement equals an endorsement of said casino)...so who would be willing to undertake all this work, with zero compensation? Not too many people enjoy working for free.

Forgive me for butting in here, but this idea is hardly revolutionary or new, and few trying it have really succeeded in my view (based on involvement in this industry since late 1996)

The evidence is right in front of you when it comes to how effective a forum can be. Casinomeister.com is acknowledged widely for its influence, enabling it to broker problem solutions where others have failed.

That's due to the generally well balanced and knowledgable membership here, and to the publicity which issues aired here achieve elsewhere including Google and other websites where players gather. The fairness, integrity and industry contacts of the webmaster in handling issues is another key factor - all built up over some time by consistently maintaining a reasonable and evenly balanced approach.

There are other great examples of forum power too - just for a start look up the Absolute and Ultimatebet poker scandals and the impact that the 2+2 message board and its members had in that issue.

Edited to add a footnote: Many rogue operators have underestimated the clout that top message boards have - to their cost. An independent survey some 18 months to 2 years ago, for example, showed that forums were used by a far greater percentage of online players than conventional wisdom had hithertoe suggested was the case.

The visitors themselves would sponsor this. The traffic would be overwhelming and the webmaster would not only be working for free but also paying a monthly or yearly fee for bandwidth.

There could be a paypal or other donation link on the website or a monthly charge of $5 per visitor hoping that this would cover the time and effort it would take to update and keep the site relevant.

I pay $30 a year for a site that I belong to and go there about 10-12 times per year for updates and materials to download for photoshop and psp. If it's something that people want they will pay.
    Waiting on something interesting

No intention of dismissing the quality of this forum at all or say its not authority...what i'm saying is that its not a site a majority of new players find when they first start looking for online casinos.

I guess there's so much money to be made in the casino industry that it would be a hard thing to accomplish...not quite as bad as typical "supplement review websites"...
