    Just some Questions

    Just somethings I always wondered.

1: How did you come up with the name of the site? (did you had other names in your mind but they where already taken?)

2: What was your original idea for the site?

3: Over the years you saw your site grow, ever thought you would become this well known in the gambling community

4: Where you hope this site to go in the near future?

Well as said just some questions, thought would be interesting to know.

Actually, the name dawned on me while chowing down on lunch at Oscars in San Diego. I was wanting to come up with a German/English website that would be translated in both languages. "Casinomeister" sounded the best and there were no other names that I deliberated on. Lucky me

The idea for creating the site came from work - I was the production manager of a web-based translation company. We had just translated a couple of casino websites and I thought "what a joke - who in their right mind would give these guys their credit card numbers?" I more or less laughed it off and didn't give it another thought. We were then approached by some of the land based casino operations out of San Diego county that were hoping to get online as well (with Crypto) but they were apprehensive since they thought there were too many crooks out there, and they didn't want to be connected to them. That's when I thought "Hey, cool idea for a website - I can make a list of good casinos - and a list of bad ones."

The original intent was to provide information to enable players a safe playing ground in online casino-land. This primary mission is one from which I've never wavered. I wanted to have this focused on Germany (I was planing to move back at the time or its conception), but this was short lived with the massive amount of translations to deal with, plus you can't run online casino related sites in German in Germany - thus no German ( I didn't know this in 1998). I wanted to create a popular site with people interacting in a forum - I was lucky to get in early in this business - it worked.

I didn't realise I was well-known until I began to go to conferences in 2001 and discovered that most of the operators and software developers had been using my site as reference. Many were already subscribers to my newsletter so they were learning from what I was offering them. From there it more or less snow-balled.

It's pretty much going in the right direction - just with more to offer. I've always been planning for the webcast to go video - but due to time constraints, it never got off the ground. There are also possibilities of an off-line magazine as well - but that's long term.

Any names in mind for this magazine? (if it's a rather not to be discussed issue I understand, confidentiality is key in this business)

well thought of some more questions, I hope you do not mind.

    Question 1:
Any ideas of successors for your empire? (thought empire would give it a nice kick) Of course for now you can still continue for many years, but do you see yourself doing this for much longer?

    Question 2:
How much time does it take for you to run your empire (again empire as a kick)

    Question 3:
Are there any casinos stories that where funny, weird, or almost spectacular that you would love to share, no names needed of course.

    Question 4:
Ever thought of opening your own Utopian casino?

I have Vortran in training, but I have to kick his ass every so often. He gets a little distracted sometimes

I work from 0800 - 1830 M-F. If I take time off during the day to do stuff, then I make up for in the evening. I don't work weekends.

Years ago I rogued BMLsports for touting a load of fake awards (many of the award websites were on the same server as the casino). After they were rogued I started receiving porn spam - but the porn spam was good enough to indicate the IP where I supposedly subscribed. The IP was BMLSport's

Sorry to bother again, but you ready for round 3?

Question 1: What would you advise to others thinking of creating a site like this, other then to best not come into your territory.

Question 2: I saw many of the old awards for casinos, players, etc. How did you came up with this concept?

Question 3: Ever had an extremely strange issue with a forum user and a casino that you almost could not believe it?

Question 4: Any ritual you have during your day that you would like your fans to know, can I order a casinomeister T-Shirt?
