proxy server

I wanted to start this thread in software issues but was not allowed to. Anyway, here goes. Can Bryan, or anyone else explain to me what a proxy server is and how I can switch from the one I am currently using to that. I have a bonus at a Playtech casino that I cannot clear because the software recognises I am from Hong Kong and wont elt me play the games. However, the manager is willing to allow me to play if I can find a proxy server. But I dont even know what it is. Advice, anyone?

Basically a proxy server can make it seem that you are from a different location. I am surprised that the casino manager would allow this though. Shady casino perhaps?

In this case, the manager was just trying to thank me for the help rendered to him and that I could use the free bonus given to me. From the comments at this forum, it is unlikely that it is a shady casino.
