Bryan, I see you like the Grateful Dead..

    Hey Bryan,

Just checked out your amazon wishlist - I noticed you have a bunch of cd's you'd like from the Grateful Dead. I'm a pretty big fan myself, unfortunately I'm too young to have seen them in concert - I have seen the Other Ones, Phil & Friends, and various other Grateful Dead minus Jerry bands though, they still rock my socks off.

I'm definitely going to hook you up with at least one of those cd's (prob Workingmans Dead) as your forum has helped me score some signups to my site .

Thanks for having this forum Bryan, you're the man.

    - David

Thanks! I grew up in the SF Bay Area in the 60s/70s, so the Dead bring back a lot of homey memories - old girl friends, Santa Cruz, keg parties and other trippy things

    Very cool.

I'll be sending you the CD right after I get my affiliate check for January.
Workingmans Dead has always been one of my favs.

You're lucky to have been around SanFran at that time - wow, I wish I was there.

Guys, come on, you've heard of file-sharing right?! The days of paying for music are numbered!

I'm not familiar with too much Grateful Dead stuff, which album should I download first?!

The Grateful dead were known for letting people tape and distribute their live shows for free. There are literally thousands of free recordings out there from the Grateful Dead. That being said, why would you steal from a band that offers so much for free. If you don't want to pay for their music by all means you can find some great free stuff by them here: www.gdlive.com. But c'mon you gotta pay for the albums that they have for sale. Just my .$00.02

haha, thanks for the link to the grateful dead stuff.

I'm afraid I don't consider torrenting as stealing - it's just another form of 'copying'; just like the old days.

Piracy is all togethor a completely different thing of course.

Ill give you guys a little experience of the dead...

my girlfrinds mother used to travel around with the dead and go to all there concerts...

the bathrooms where so full sometime that the women peed in the sink...they were all high anyway so it really didnt matter lol... they all did drugs according to her....every one of them... jerry garcia was like high all the time and he would forget the words but people didnt care...so if you get a concert cd you will here him say "thats right" when he gets the words

thats enough of the history lesson.

    Thank you,

    My experience with the Dead

At one time I worked as the production manager for a concert promoter
and we promoted 6 shows with the Dead in 4 cities. I was warned by friends in the industry that they (the Dead) would try to dose me (LSD) and I shouldn't eat of drink anything backstage.
On the afternoon of the last show I took a Coke out of a iced filled trash can
and drank it thinking I was safe...Ha.. they had put acid in the ice water and I had a pleasant but strange evening highlight by the band walking by me on the way to the stage and they all turned at one time and said "gotcha"
