I was going to purchase a reloadable Netspend card but I was pm'ed by another Casinomeister member that their card has not been working at Microgaming casinos. Is anyone else having trouble? I will be playing at RTG casino but asking anyway Thanks

FYI - I believe the Netspend VISA is more widely accepted for gaming than the Netspend MC.

Ive had a neg. balance once or twice for 1 or 2 dollars - I figured it was some sort of card fee they charge. I think there is a big problem with yours - I would ask for a statement to see where they went wrong.

I've seen a negative balance on prepaid cards caused 3 ways: (a) card issuer charges card "fees", (b) a deposit is reversed and (c) a merchant was rejected in a charge attempt and then "forced" the charge - a standard merchant practice.

.............found out netspend has been known to double charge.....will let ya know if it evens out.......laurie

What I've found out over the past year is that it's MC that are rejecting any charges that are coded as casino charges and not the card issuer themselves ie: Banks, credit unions, pre-paid entities etc., but rather MC themself...granted that MC will work at some onlines, but not all and that is simply because of the way the charge is coded by the processor...

I use Netspend Prepaid Visa Debit card. I deposited $10 into 3Dice and it was charged twice. 3Dice was nice enough to give me a $15.00 comp and they said they think it was a problem with Netspend. They suggested I wait 7 days and see if it comes back into my account. We will see.

I had it happen because of the point bryand brought up about failed deposits. It charges your card even though it doesn't go through. You can call them and if you complain enough they will fix it for you. Just don't let them tell you it takes 10 days, it doesn't if you get a supervisor on the phone, then it is instant.

i also talked to many supervisors and they told me it was not them double charging but the casinos, then i got lucky and talked to some one that knew her stuff, she said that the merchants have 10 days to collect or the money will go back into the cardholders acct., if under 100.00 purchace.some merchants may not see the funds pending and will run it thru again, making it a double charge, but once the first funds are collected by the merchant, the other charge will drop off, if the merchant sends a fax stating they will not collect on the second attempt, as best i understood her to say.i still dont understand it and prolly never will, i have never had problems with netspend until now and it seems both parties are blaming each other and i with a few others are caught in the middle, she did say this wasnt a rare case and has happened before and it will all wash out even.................. we will see:eek:

Isn't that always the case as they put it...track records are hard to break with these outfits...:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Same happened to me.
One day I found my netspend Visa -98.43.
I called...no explanations and I was charged for the call........
Every now and than I did check on my balance.still the same.
I always suspect it was a $90 or so charge from Bodog that was charged twice
They(netspend) are still wayting for me to make a deposit.
It will never happen.
Since than, I use wired plastic.....not much better though.

All of those pre-paids are a CON and will always take the casino's side (or word) over the customers and the customer has absolutely no recourse whatsoever as far as chargeback or anything else for that matter that you can do as a customer to rectify the situation because it's pre-paid and you have already given up your money unlike a real MC or Visa where you have several avenues of rectification...

Laurie, that's exactly what happened with my card. They blame the casino, the casino blames them. I had to become "vocal" over the issue in order to get them to remove it immediately. If the charges aren't attempted against the card after 10 days, the "ghost" charges drop off. Still, it is BS!!

:lolup::lolup::lolup::lolup::lolup::lolup::lolup:

Should I speak to netspend about my double charge? Do I tell them I made the deposit at a casino??? Advice please. Thanks:)
i did and they didnt care if it was a casino or the man in the moon i was spending money on.i would call bally , i really would and contact the casino that they say has double billed you and make them aware and do what they must do in order to get your account straight, its not our fault imo, which sometimes dont mean squat!!!.........laurie

Thanks Laurie. I will call them. It was only $10 and it didn't give me a negative balance. The casino was 3Dice and they immediately gave me a $15.00 bonus chip.

I will still call because I could have had a lot of money charged twice, not just $10.

Hope it all works out for you!

Ive hadda buncha NetSpend cards. Ive got two now. Once I reloaded $500 at a ck cash place. They said it didn't take and they were putting it thru again and "please press YES" on the electronic POS thingy on my side a the bullet proof glass. When I got home I had $1,000 balance. Woo hoo! I went back in there a week or so later n the lady said I owe $500. I left. Went to a different ck cash place, bought a new $9.95 NetSpend card (yes Visa only - only noobs dumb nuf to git a MC for online gaming don ask me why) circular-filed the old NetSpend but did not cancel it or call it stolen - just dumped the card - problem's solved! I don't owe NetSpend nuttin. Never came up on subsequent cards even tho the lady at ck cash place #1 said I have probs. I've posted ad-nauseum on the wonders of NetSpend ever since first joining CM. Never hadda problem, really. Now, if casinos have double billed me -maybe they have and I never realized but it was never enough that I noticed if they had.

PS NetSpend was - in the not too distant past - listed specifically as a deposit option in many online casino cashiers. In fact, they still are at 3Dice Casino f'sho at this very moment as we type! So the fact that we use it for casinos don befront them NONE!

Now that's the way a Good Casino operates...No Doubt, No BS !!!

Are you saying you spent the 500.00 dollars they put on the card in error.:eek2:

...........thats what i was thinking also last night. when i read the post.:eek:maybe he will come back and explain a little better, i just couldnt spend something i wasnt entitled to in good faith, i guess different strokes for different folks:rolleyes:

Yeah bally, they don't care. In fact they told me that they had some of these "ghost" charge issues with the casino spots. Since the double charge happened and it was straightened out, I haven't had any further problems with the card.

I agree - Also could explain the card Co. trying to recoup losses such as this.

One thing I would do though. When you go to load the card ask for the current balance before adding funds. That way if there is a neg. balance, you can opt out of the purchase.

I got a card but after reading these posts about double charges I'm afraid to use it. After all that and 9.95 later back at square one. Someone shoot me!

:gunmen:

I have had no problems w/ my card - I actually think it's a great way to fund my gambling. I put on just what I want to use ( no way to get carried away as I use to when I had been using my bank debit card) I too am worried about getting charged double and will ask every time I load what my balance is. I still think especially for us gamblers in the states is a good way to deposit.

.....it has always been good for me also, i have never had a problem with it until now.

I have only had one problem with my Netspend card and it was western union that did it. I was trying to fund my ECO card and western union decided that I was trying to send money to fund terrorists and wouldn't let me but they charged my card anyway. But the Netspend folks were very nice and helped me get this straightened out that day.

That said, I keep a very close eye on my balance, checking on the computer daily to make sure everything is OK. I got double charged by 3Dice once and it was 3Dice that did it not the card. They reversed the charges immediately and I had the money back the next day.

I have been OD once or twice when my AOL charges come in and I forget about them. But just a little bit.

Maybe these charges are like the pay at the pump charges. They charge you $50 no matter what amount you put in (if it's under $50 of course) and that charge stays until the real charge goes through and then it drops. Learned my lesson about this on a trip one time. I make sure I go into the station to pay to avoid this mess.

Hope you get all this straightened out.

nope mom, just talked to them btw and now they are saying thursday it should all even out, they are still putting the blame on 3- dice and so forth, im just at my ropes end........... so now the soonest i could reload my card would be thursday, and they are saying 3- dice hasnt even put my 1k winnings on the card.....who do you trust anymore:eek:, the guy i talked to this time was a supervisor in the collections dept. and assured me nothing is or has been credited to my account. im so tired of hearing," lets wait till tomorrow". i ve talked with enzo who is a really cool person and has assured me that i will get the 1k one way or another and again i dont blame the casino, hell i dont know who to blame, maybe just me, for liking to play online and being limited by my deposit options...............laurie

This situation absolutely sucks for you, and really for all of us in U.S. its getting harder and harder to get withdrawals and now deposits are getting rarer.

I know Mom, it's a real catch 22. Play where they pay quick, but you seldom win anything (3Dice), or play at the others and wait forever to get your cash. Damn if you do, damn if you don't. It's gotten so bad for me at 3Dice that even the video poker is taking me out quick. I just won't play the slots there, don't care for the wicked "variance". I'm playing less and less at 3D as the bloom is coming off the rose for me. Also, they used to send me little bonuses, but since I won 1K on VP, not a word to be heard. I trust them, just can't win anything usually.

So let me see if I have this straight Annie...You were using your Netspend Card to purchase a Western Union Wire Transfer in order to further fund your ECO Card ???...Huh ???...

Why wouldn't you have just used the Netspend card itself to make a deposit at the casino ???

Been using my card for onling gaming for over two years. Never a problem. Ever. Have two cards now and have gone through 6 or 7 cuz I lose them alot. Only cost $9.95 to replace and any balance on a lost card was always transferred free of charge. Once I didn't realize I'd lost a card and it must have been gone almost three weeks and when I replaced it and called NetSpend the balance was still there and was transferred to my newly activated card. If there's a double billing prob I'd consider the casino/s involved and stay clear a them before I'd dump my NetSpend Visa. But hey, if you just wanna be shot, nuff said! :sniper:

I checked my Netspend balance today and it is showing a negative balance of $111 and some odd cents. Transactions that have posted in the last few days are showing as still pending...or is the casino double charging me? All 3 transactions are from the Jackpot Factory Casinos. I'm hoping its not double charging...and hopefully the pending charges will "fall off" soon. I have emailed Netspend and will PM David Brickman to make sure that I am not being double charged.

I think it would probably be wise to keep a close eye on your Netspend accounts. I have had my Netspend card for over a year now and have never had this problem before.

I'm curious are these net spend VISA or Mastercard that are being double charged or is it both??

Uh...yeah. I didn mention that part? Y'see my HANDLE? Y'see my AVATAR? Naturally, if I had spent it AT ALL, it MUSTA been a, whadjoocallit?
ERROR? Yeah, error! That's the ticket!!

Im just surprised the 500.00 would not follow on a new card - You say in the past your balance on lost cards were forwarded to the new card. Does this only happen if you mention past cards??

Hmmm, makes me feel better besides the headache I have. Becareful what you ask for! Thanks lol

i used netspend for a while now and i noticed this week i was charged a extra 49.98 cents. i checked my account and did not make that purchase so i called netspend and they said the merchant was the same merchant i had made my other transactions too. well it was a casino. i emailed the casino and they looked it up and said yes it was a legit transaction. and to not call netspend first because they could lock my card because of a gambling transaction. i still dont know how i got charged the extra money since it wasnt a transaction i had made. only thing i can think of is i miscounted my money on my card and had pending transactions . i still dont know how all this happened.

What a mess....

This weekend, I intend to spend the last few dollars on my card for a purse -- from Card Player.com LOL It will be interesting to see how that purchase pans out.
