While that might sound like a plea that AGD needs help of some sort... this is really a call out to affiliates. We need to unite on a topic and we, at AGD, found that the best way to do this is by voting en-masse. Please help us and cast your vote (and your opinion in the post)!
--- Due to the recent controversy with the addition of terms at various affiliate programs, we need your help. There is a poll located at: Terms Poll This will be the first in a series of polls that we will roll out over the next week. This poll is geared towards Playshare Partner's retroactive term. Next week Monday we will discuss Roxy. On Wednesday we will discuss Casino Coins. (The order these terms came into existence) We NEED your input on these polls in the highest turnout possible. It is very important for all affiliates (new or old) to take part in the poll and any ensuing discussion. Please help us out. Thank you.

Quote:
You see this as not fair, that an affiliate that brought in the player in the first place receives no money. Affiliates see this as taking away money that they are owed because the affiliate brought the player to you in the FIRST PLACE. In other words you would not have the high roller AT ALL if it were not for the affiliate... It is sad that I have to keep reminding aff managers that the affiliate puts out the first cash investment in the arrangement we have with the casinos. Is it fair that the aff risks his/her own money to promote the casino in order to get the player in the first place... only to have the casino say... too bad no money for you? I don't think so. Most smart affs know that the casinos make money off of just holding the player deposits, win or lose... You didn't mention how much the player in your scenario deposited.

An interesting discussion on the affiliate - operator relationship has been going on at eGaming Review this week following a comment by the William Hill Online COO that certainly in the poker rakeback area operators needed to restrict the abilities of affiliates in this area. He also wanted a clearly boundary between affiliates (customer acquisition) and operators (customer retention and loyalty incentives)
Knowledgeable execs in the industry, including a manager from PKR have strongly supported the role of affiliates in the debate. Some of the issues are reported in this week's Casinomeister News.

In this instance affiliates promoting Poker Rooms and Casinos are very different.
There is seldom, if ever, a "high roller" in Poker that will deposit ten of thousands and win 400k directly from the poker room. The poker rooms very seldom if ever put their profits at risk. Promoting poker, especially if you do rakeback is an effort in collecting small change... Sometimes a lot of small change...but still small change. This "high roller rule" is almost exclusively for the casinos benefit.

There is another table here:
