A brand new gaming technology business in the form of Sharp Gaming has been launched by the founder of Degree 53, with Sharp Gaming purporting to be an advanced platform that will service sports and betting businesses.
Started by the founder of Degree 53, Andrew Daniels, with Sharp Gaming being initially funded with £25m by way of investment from Betfred owner Fred Done. Daniels states: “I received over £25m investment from the UK leading bookmaker owner, Fred Done, to create Sharp Gaming. The business stems from Degree 53, capitalising on the company’s vast knowledge of creating digital products for the online gambling industry.”
In setting up Sharp Gaming, Daniels will move away from the day to day operations running of Degree 53, a company that provides bespoke services to the online gambling, sports, retail, finance and education industries. Daniels will remain on the board at Degree 53 and also a shareholder of the company.
The launch of Sharp Gaming will see staff who have been working on the project whilst at Degree 53, moving over to the new company permanently, and Richard Wagstaff will assume day to day control of Degree 53 in his role as Managing Director.
Wagstaff commenting on his new responsibilities at the company, said: “I am delighted to be stepping up to lead Degree 53. We have a talented team who are delivering amazing work for our clients. Our reputation for delivering complex, secure digital solutions in a way that delights end users has enabled us to produce high-quality work across a range of sectors. My focus will be on growing our reach, strengthening client relationships, and helping to improve their products and services through our expertise.”
Both Sharp Gaming and Degree 53 will operate from the same offices in Manchester and will work together across common projects.
