Respected High Street Betting Name Due For Change

Stan James has a year in which to re-brand its retail outlets… and it is likely to be an expensive exercise

Last year's brand and assets sale to Unibet of the online gambling interests of Gibraltar-based bookmaker Stan James carried with it a grace period giving the retail operations of the previous owners a timeframe within which a new brand could be developed and implemented.

Six months later, and with 12 months of the transitional period still in hand, the co-founder of the company, Steve Fisher, told the publication Racing Post that developing a new corporate identity and re-branding the company's roster of around 80 betting shops is in progress and will cost at least GBP 1 million.

Fisher did not give any indication of what the new identity will look like.
