Ema Zajmovic the first female player to win an open-field WPT title

Quebec poker pro Ema Zajmovic became the the first female player to win an open-field World Poker Tour title this week when she bested a field of 380 to claim the first prize of Cdn$ 261,000 in the Partypoker.net WPT Playground main event at the Playground Poker Club in Montreal.
Her prize includes a seat at the season-end WPT Tournament of Champions worth Cdn$15,000.
Although she entered the heads up against Jean-Francois Bouchard with a chip deficit, Zajmovic was able to get herself back in the game with some skillful and disciplined playing, eventually overtaking the leader and finally leveraging her chip advantage into a decisive win.
Bouchard's runner up prize was Cdn$ 169,270.
