New Megastack product has relatively low buy-in

PokerStars has introduced a new live tournament series aimed at recreational players, according to a company statement Friday.
Titled Megastack the series is designed to bring live poker to players' doorstep at a low buy-in level, to create a good live poker experience, and to offer players a platform on which to build their poker career towards competing in the PokerStars Championship and PokerStars Festival events.
Megastack will debut at The Hippodrome Casino London from April 7 – 9, 2017. Players qualify through one of the many satellites PokerStars is offering.
London is just the start, the company statement advises; more events are planned across the UK with some of Europe's favourite destinations scheduled for coming months.
Players who pay the GBP170 buy-in (or win a seat in a satellite) will start with 50,000 chips. There are also three opening flights with one re-entry available for each of them, so plenty of time and chips to enjoy the action.
Megastack events at the Hippodrome will take place from Friday to Sunday, on the dates below:
* April 7th – 9th
* May 5th – 7th
* June 30th – July 2nd
* September 22nd – 24th
* October 20th – 22nd

Brian Cullingworth

Infopowa news was a staple of Casinomeister’s news from 2000 until 2019. Brian Cullingworth was the main writer, contributor, and was one of the most knowledgeable persons I have ever known involved in the online casino industry.

We first met in January 2001 at the ICE in London where I observed him going booth to booth interviewing online casino, software, and licensing jurisdiction representatives. Brian was also heavily involved with our forum as “Jetset“, he was involved as an informal consultant to eCOGRA, the OPA, and was a player advocate who assisted countless aggrieved players with his connections to industry folks. He also published “Casino Cautions” via Infopowa news for quite a number of years. These can be found in our news archives.

His passing in February 2019 was a dark day for us. He will be forever missed.
