Play N Go in Warning against Non Compliant Marketing

Casino game developers Play N Go have issued a announcement on their site concerning socially responsible marketing, after being made aware of a number of operators and affiliates of operators, using Play N Go marketing material in conjunction with marketing campaigns which are exploiting the current Coronavirus and Covid-19 pandemic.
Play N Go in the announcement on their site, state the following: “While we are aware that the vast majority of our customers are offering our content in a socially responsible manner, it has come to our attention that a number of operators and affiliates have been using Play’n GO’s content and images pertaining to our games in connection with marketing campaigns and other promotional material which overtly seek to exploit the current COVID19 pandemic, in an attempt to encourage gamblers to increase their gambling spend.”
“Play’n GO strongly condemn anyone seeking to profit from the pandemic, and we ask that immediate steps are taken to discontinue any such activities and reserve the right take additional measures to make sure this happens.”
In recent weeks a number of affiliate programs responsible for the marketing of some of the iGaming industry’s leading players have sent out communications to their affiliate marketing partners, warning them against using the current global pandemic as a form of marketing tool.
Indeed regulators such as the UKGC and Holland’s KSA have warned their licensees to steer clear of using the Coronavirus pandemic in any form in marketing their products, both offline and online.
