Paddy Power Betfair rebrands as Flutter Entertainment

Today sees the change of name for the parent company of Paddy Power and Betfair from Paddy Power Betfair to Flutter Entertainment. With the name change taking affect immediately.
Whilst not changing the names of the company’s individual brands, Flutter Entertainment is now the known name of the parent company of what was Paddy Power Betfair.
An investors relations notice was published this morning to the stock exchange which read: “Further to shareholder approval at the Annual General Meeting of the Company held on 15 May 2019, the Company is pleased to announce that its change of name from Paddy Power Betfair plc to Flutter Entertainment plc is effective 27 May 2019.”
“As a result, the Company confirms that as of 28 May 2019 its shares will trade under the new name Flutter Entertainment plc and the ticker symbol has changed to FLTR on both the London Stock Exchange and Euronext Dublin.”
“The Company’s corporate website is available at www.flutter.com effective from 9am today.”
The new name is both memorable and is also regarded as a term which is used when placing a bet in the UK, which serves to be the group’s largest market. Seems that the Paddy Power marketing team are once again on point.
