Ministry of Finance expected to propose a lottery bill

Thailand media reports indicate that the nation's lottery could be going online, quoting sources who have revealed that the Ministry of Finance is about to propose a bill to government which will include the licensing of online lottery vendors.
Work is already well advanced on the project, with the ministry collaborating with the Council of State in drafting a bill which is likely to be submitted to government for debate and hopefully approval in September, according to the sources.
However, sources warned that there could be delays in implementation if government vetoed the proposal, or if it demanded an impact study on its provisions.
The bill includes provisions to punish vendors who operate without licensing, and those who over-price lottery tickets.
