New Social Sports Betting App Launched

The Cheerful Moment company in China is hoping for global take-up on its new product

A Chinese technology start-up appealingly titled The Cheerful Moment has launched an in-play social sports betting app titled TCM In-Play that it hopes will enjoy global popularity, particularly in the United States and Europe.
TCM says that its secure cross platform infrastructure allows users to play for real money in jurisdictions where it's legal and for social entertainment gaming with virtual currency worldwide.
The company has enjoyed prior success with its Starting Whistle app which reportedly surged on debut, ranking eighth in the Apple Store and becoming a featured app within days.
TCM's In-Play app provides multiple events to wager on during a match, and allows users to trade out at any time. There are currently three play modes Single Player, Tournament, and Prize Play.
Other features include a progressive jackpot and a leader board that ranks the performance of users and provides dashboards and statistics to enhance the competitive nature of the action.
The app uses live streaming and proprietary algorithms with oversight from expert oddsmakers, and TCM has partnered with some of the industry's top sports information services to provide timely and accurate occurrences and results.
Jim Yu, a ten-year veteran who formerly worked for Betfair and 500.com, is the head man at TCM. The company has a partnership agreement which gives it access to 500.com's user base of 60 million.
Yu has developed a working relationship with former American Wagering exec John English to push the app in the USA, who said in a statement this week:
"There has not been a successful merger of real money betting and social interaction for sports and we aim to be the first to bridge that gap. TCM InPlay has begun the required lab and regulatory requirements and soon will start a beta test for the western markets."
TCM has also recently completed integrations with the major social networks and mobile operating systems such as Facebook, WeChat, IOS, Android, and Google Play, and is available in five languages: Chinese, English, German, Polish and Portuguese.
The first sport offered is soccer, followed by American football, and the company has future plans to offer most popular US sporting events including, basketball, baseball, hockey, boxing, fantasy, and the now trending eSports phenomenon.
