New Chairman For Ladbrokes

Former Coral CEO and founder replaces Peter Erskine

In a planned replacement, the post of chairman of the board at Ladbrokes has been taken up by former Coral founder and CEO John Kelly following the resignation of Peter Erskine.
Kelly, a senior non-executive director on the Ladbrokes board, will also serve as chairman of the proposed merged corporate group Ladbrokes Coral. Kelly has additionally been re-appointed to the chair of the company's nomination committee and a member of its remuneration committee.
"It is a great honour to take on the role of chairman of Ladbrokes at such an exciting time in the company's history," Kelly said. "We have an aggressive organic plan for growth under our new chief executive, Jim Mullen, and are working hard towards the proposed merger with Coral Group.
"While there has been much to do, the board and the executive team are focused on delivering for shareholders and I remain confident in the direction and momentum in the business."
The betting group also announced the appointment of Mark Pain to its board as a non-executive director and chairman of the audit committee. Pain is an experienced businessman and a director of companies like the Yorkshire Building Society, Johnston Press and London Square Developments.
