MGA in Data Sharing Agreement with International Cricket Council

The Malta Gaming Authority ( MGA ) have today announced a data sharing agreement with the International Cricket Council ( ICC ). The ICC is the global governing body for world cricket and represents 105 members, whereby it governs and administers the game, growing the sport in the process.
Part of the remit of the ICC through its integrity unit is to coordinate action against corruption and match fixing within the game of cricket. With the data sharing agreement between the MGA and ICC facilitating the sharing of information between the two parties, in fulfilment of the requirements at law.
Speaking about the data sharing agreement, the MGA’s Sports Integrity Manager, Antonio Zerafa stated that:“This data sharing agreement with the ICC represents the Authority’s on-going commitment of combatting match-fixing and other types of manipulation in sports.”
“In fact, this agreement will allow the MGA and the ICC to share crucial data related to the process of detecting, preventing and investigating activities related to manipulation of sports competitions.”
