Macau Security Chief Joins Regulatory Commission

Wong Sio Chak joins eight other commissioners

Macau's security chief, Wong Sio Chak, has additionally been appointed a commissioner in the gambling island's Gambling Commission, joining eight other regulators, four of them government officials, according to the Reuters news agency.
Founded in 2000, the Commission's current mandate is to research, monitor and implement regulations for the island gambling industry.
The Macau gambling market is undergoing turbulent times with a long-running decline in business following the mainland Chinese government's clampdown on visas and corruption, and a review on the upcoming licence renewals for several major foreign gambling groups who have invested billions in Macau land casino operations.
