The UK Gambling Commission have announced this morning that they have taken the decision to suspend with immediate effect the licence issued to Isle of Man based International Multi-Media Entertainments Limited, who own and operate the site Lotteries.com.
In an ‘Information Notice’ published on the Gambling Commission site, the decision to suspend the operators licence is confirmed, with the following text: “Pursuant to section 118(2) of the Act, the Commission has determined to suspend the above operating licence insofar as it pertains to the operator’s ability to offer remote facilities for Remote casino and remote general betting standard (real event). The suspension is due to anti-money laundering practices and ongoing social responsibility concerns we have with the operator.”
“The suspension of International Multi Media Entertainments Limited takes effect immediately. We have instructed the operator to ensure that it facilitates customers’ accessing their accounts to withdraw any funds and we remain in contact with them regarding the need for clear and updated messaging for consumers.”
So far, at the time of writing, upon accessing Lotteries.com there is no mention on the site that their UKGC licence has been withdrawn or any information in the form of notices, informing their customer base of the action taken by the Gambling Commission.
