Safer Gambling Week Really Works — More Than Million Players Can Back That Up

Do you think you gamble safely?

If you asked the Betting and Gaming Council (BCG) and a whole bunch of other gambling-related organizations (Bacta, the Lotteries Council, and the Bingo Association), they’d probably say that whatever your answer to this question may be, there’s always room for improvement. That’s where Safer Gambling Week comes in — a joint effort aimed at promoting safe and responsible gambling

Last year, from November 18 to 24, they teamed up again for the same purpose. The results of the Safer Gambling Week 2024? Over that week, more than 1.5 million players used at least one responsible gaming featurea 22% increase in the number of players compared to the year before.

On top of all that, there was a 14% jump in the number of players setting deposit limits.

Turns out, players do care about betting responsibly, they just need a little nudge in the right direction.

So do the results speak of players not being aware of tools that could help them exist, the marketing geniuses behind the campaign, or something entirely different? We guess we need some temporal spacing to figure this one out. Until then, let’s hope to see those numbers soar this winter again.
