The major Australian online and land gambling group Tabcorp has for the tenth time been ranked as the global gambling industry leader in the annual Dow Jones Sustainability Index for 2014.

The company received a 100 percent rating in the 'Promoting Responsible Gaming' category, a maximum rating it has received in this category for eight successive years.

Tabcorp managing director and CEO, David Attenborough said Friday that the group is committed to operating sustainably.

"Tabcorp's continued global leadership in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index is a testament to our commitment to a high standard of governance," Attenborough said, adding that the company operates with integrity and to the benefit of a wide range of stakeholders that includes investors, the racing industry and hotel and club partners.

Of the criterion on which 23 companies from across the globe in the casino and gaming sector were assessed, Tabcorp received the top score in 11 of the 19 measures.
