The highly anticipated ICE 2022 show scheduled to be held at the London Excel between 31 January-3 February 2022, has been postponed after organisers Clarion Gaming confirmed the show will be rescheduled due to the rising concern regarding the OMICRON Variant of COVID19.
In addition to ICE 2022, the IGB Affiliate London event that follows straight after has also been postponed.
The news of the postponement of arguably the gambling industry’s biggest event of the year, comes less than 24 hours after some online iGaming news outlets were reporting that the ‘Show Must Go On’.
Subsequently the official website for the show now displays a message on the homepage stating that the ICE will take place in the Spring of 2022, with organisers Clarion Gaming to confirm the new dates next week on 22nd December.
Commenting on the news of the postponement of ICE, Stuart Hunter the Managing Director of Clarion Gaming said: “This comes as really disappointing news for everyone connected with ICE London and iGB Affiliate London.”
“However, in what is a rapidly changing situation, it became clear that we could not provide the certainty that our customers need in terms of logistical planning, from the construction of stands to the transportation of equipment, as well as the booking of flights and accommodation.”
Hunter did though reassert Clarion’s ambition to hold the ICE next year despite the postponement and added: “It is a great shame that we will not be able to celebrate our return in February but the brand and its international community of stakeholders will bounce back in spring.”
