Goodlatte Honoured As "digital Patriot"

Goodlatte may not be the most popular pol in the online gambling industry, but others like him

Rep. Bob Goodlatte, a dyed-in-the-wool anti-online gambling politician who has caused more than his fair share of angst and financial loss for the industry in the United States over the past decade or more (see previous InfoPowa reports), appears to be far more popular in the wider digital industry, which has recognised him for his contributions in advancing technology innovation and strengthening patent and intellectual property protection.
At a swish Washington dinner in mid-April the Consumer Electronics Association trade body bestowed its prestigious Digital Patriot honour on Goodlatte for "supporting a legal and regulatory framework that allows the tech industry to flourish."
