Fruity King Marketing Gone Awry

By Casinomeister, Last updated Sep 15, 2017

Clever marketing or distasteful promotion?

Malta-registered ProgressPlay Limited’s mobile casino operation Fruity King has offended its audience once again with derogatory remarks posted on Twitter concerning American stand-up comedian, writer and actress Amy Schumer.

The controversial tweet, which jibes at Ms Shumer’s inclusion in Glamour magazine’s Plus Size edition, has sparked a flurry of furious responses.

This is the not the first time Fruity King’s promotional capabilities have been under the spotlight. Just last month the company likened a photo of footballer James Vardy to looking like ‘an extra from Schindler’s List’ and more infamously another questionable tweet in January appeared to insult footballer Yaya Toure’s wife.

The incident again raises the question whether marketers go too far when basing their guerrilla marketing tactics on personal and often distasteful attacks.
