Evolution’s License Getting Dissected by the UKGC Over Suspected Black Market Activity

Cheer and joy are everywhere this holiday season, except at Evolution Gaming. The big-name live dealer provider is currently under an investigation launched by the UK Gambling Commission for — hold your breath — its games running on unlicensed platforms.
Almost in no time after the UKGC began looking into their license, Evolution Gaming released a statement saying they are fully pulling their weight to resolve this matter. They definitely did make some moves, since the games were instantly pulled from the unlicensed websites.
Will this be enough for Evolution not to face serious consequences?
Well, things can go one of three ways. They could come out of this untouched, face financial penalties, or have their UK license fully suspended and revoked.
With around 3% of Evolution’s total revenue coming from the UK market, on the face of it, none of the outcomes look too damaging. But Evolution’s stocks have already plummeted 10% after the news of the scrutiny went public. Also, the provider has just recently been subject to claims of providing services to shady Asian-based operators. Apparently, ‘tis the season for Evolution Gaming to grit its teeth and endure.
How will this all turn out? We’ll just have to hang tight and see. But, with Christmas going the way it did at Evolution, here’s hoping that we’ll see the provider coming out strongly committed to safe gambling once Big Ben rings in the new year.
