Esports Attracting Big Brand Sponsorship

To reach millennials demographic

Dutch market intelligence agency newzoo has released a Global Esports Market Report in which it says big brands are expected to spend around $128 million on esports sponsorships and another $197 million on advertising, which combined are approximately 70 percent of all esports revenues and represent a 49 percent increase in growth.
By 2019, newzoo expects this combined figure to rise to $800 million in a market that is predicted to pass the $1 billion mark in the same year.
"The explosive growth of esports and the ongoing convergence of games and video provides the biggest opportunity for the games industry since the launch of the iPhone back in 2007," opines Peter Warman, chief executive officer of newzoo.
