Sports betting and online casino operator the Betway Group have announced today a three year deal with the German football club FC Schalke 04, which will see Betway become the club’s premium partner and sponsor for the next three years.
Schalke 04 who were relegated from the Bundersliga after finishing bottom of the table in 18th place in the season just gone, will start the 2021 – 2022 season in 2. Bundesliga, but the link up with Betway will no doubt provide financial muscle as they look to return to the top flight of German football.
Betway’s link up with Schalke 04 is no coincidence as legal regulated gaming comes into place in Germany in 2021.
Commenting about the deal with Schalke, Betway’s Head of Marketing for Germany Mail Brodowski said: “It’s a great honour to be partnering with FC Schalke 04, one of the most recognised names in German football.”
“We look forward to supporting the club and their ambitions to work their way back to the Bundesliga. In the following years, the premium partnership provides Betway with extensive advertising and marketing rights.”
Adding to Brodowski’s comments, Scalke 04’s Alexander Jobst, who is on the board representing Marketing, Sales and Organisation said: “Together with Betway we agreed on a long-term partnership, which guarantees us security through the new legal regulation of gaming in Germany.”
“We are delighted to have gained a strong partner in Betway in this ever changing competitions.”
Betway are no strangers when it comes to advertising and marketing on sporting events and teams. In the UK they are the premier sponsor for West Ham who ply their trade in the English Premier League.
Additionally Betway have sponsored other sports including snooker and also high profile Matchroom Boxing events, including that of fights involving the unified Heavyweight Champion of the World Anthony Joshua.
