Betsson C.e.o. Steps Down

Silferberg moving to a new industry

After six years at Betsson AB, four of them as CEO and president, Magnus Silfverberg has decided to step down in July 2015 and move to another industry.
According to an announcement by the company, current executive chairman Pontus Lindwall has been appointed by the board of directors to manage the CEO responsibilities until a successor to Silferberg has been found. Lindwall's duties as chairman will be temporarily taken up by Lars Linder-Aronson, a director of the company.
Lindwall is well-suited to handle the CEO position, having worked for the company in this capacity for nine years prior to becoming executive chairman four years ago.
Commenting on his departure, Silferberg said Tuesday:
"I have had six fantastic years at Betsson. The company has during this period more than tripled in size and quadrupled its market value. I am proud of the journey we have made, and it has not been an easy decision to leave Betsson. However, I am leaving a company in top shape with a very strong culture, and I have great confidence that Betsson will continue to develop well in the future."
Lindwall thanked Silferberg for his contribution to the growth and success of Betsson and wished him well for the future.
