Bethard to Leave the UK

The Malta based Bethard Group Limited who operate an online casino and sportsbook have signalled their intention that they are to leave the UK marketplace, with a communication sent out this afternoon to their affiliate partners.
This news follows just hours after the Gambling Related Harm All-Party Parliamentary Group published their final report based on a year long inquiry concerning prevention of problem gambling in the UK.
In the email to all affiliates working with BetHard, they stated that as of today 16th June they will no longer be accepting any new player registrations and signups from UK based players, with all UK facing operations closing on 6th July next month.
Over the past year several operators have decided to pull out of the UK, no doubt concerned with the number and size of penalty packages being levied by the UK Gambling Commission to their licensees. Back in August last year, the popular Intercasino was one such online casino to give up its UK Gambling licence.
The email communication in full from Bethard to their affiliates reads: “Dear affiliate, Please be informed that after a careful review of our strategic options, Bethard Group have taken the decision to withdraw from the UK market.”
Bethard.com will no longer accept any new UK registrations as from 16th June 2020, and operations will cease on 6th July 2020.”
