Annual Awards And Brickbats Published By Casinomeister Site

Who’s been naughty and who’s been nice among players, developers, operators and affiliates in 2017?

Online gambling information site Casinomeister, which incidentally celebrates its twentieth birthday this year, has published its annual list of awards and brickbats in the traditional straight-from-the-shoulder language of owner Bryan Bailey.

There’s a whole range of accolades and knockdowns for naughty and nice players, operators, affiliates and developers across the international industry, presenting a broad, no-punches-pulled, snapshot of the industry throughout 2017.

The awards are the product of an extensive evaluation project undertaken by Bailey and the large number of experienced players in the Casinomeister Advisory Group.

The highlights are always the best online casino accolade, which this year went to Videoslots, and the antithesis at the naughty end of the scale was the strangely named Burnbet, which was roundly condemned for offences ranging from pirated games and non-payment of winnings to taking UK bets without a licence, and throwing death threats around at critics.

By contrast Videoslots was the subject of continuous positive reviews by players impressed by the range of games, responsive support, fast pay-outs and interesting promotions.

The people behind Videoslots are focused, they have never lost sight of what the players want. From the start, they jumped into the game feet first solid as a rock nary a problem. They have been going strong since, said Bailey, noting that Videoslots topped a short list of four other highly competent and popular operators.

Trada Casino took the honours for The Best Customer Service of 2017. For the second year in a row, Trada Casino is right there at number one for best customer service. The fora are chock full of kudos to the support team. I have dealt with them first hand and can attest that they are at the top of their game…

Best New Casino of 2017 was given to Playojo Casino. Their baptism by fire went relatively unscathed, and Playojo was accredited in April 2017. Excellent score for a new casino 9.1 which was due mainly to the exceptionally fast payouts and no reverse times…

Software providers will also be interested in the section Best and Worst Software releases of 2017, a round-up of the plethora of new games which were offered to players last year, and among the many casino managers ‘Daniel’ at Videslots stood out and was voted best casino manager.

But the awards are not all praise. There are the worst of the year awards as well: Worst Customer Service, Worst Casino, Worst Player Experience, Biggest Disappointment of 2017, Head in the Sand Award, Bag of Hammers Award, and more.

It makes an interesting read.

Infopowa news was a staple of Casinomeister’s news from 2000 until 2019. Brian Cullingworth was the main writer, contributor, and was one of the most knowledgeable persons I have ever known involved in the online casino industry.

We first met in January 2001 at the ICE in London where I observed him going booth to booth interviewing online casino, software, and licensing jurisdiction representatives. Brian was also heavily involved with our forum as “Jetset“, he was involved as an informal consultant to eCOGRA, the OPA, and was a player advocate who assisted countless aggrieved players with his connections to industry folks. He also published “Casino Cautions” via Infopowa news for quite a number of years. These can be found in our news archives.

His passing in February 2019 was a dark day for us. He will be forever missed.
