Adelson Casino Company Beefs Up Lobbying Spend

Las Vegas Sands spent more than half its total 2013 lobbying spend in Q1-2014

Land casino tycoon Sheldon Adelson's company Las Vegas Sands has reported lobbying spend in the first quarter of 2014 up and more than half what the company spent through the whole of 2013, reports the publication Open Secrets.org.

Las Vegas Sands reported spending $170,000 on Q1-2014 lobbying, according to four lobbying disclosures filed by firms representing the casino firm, listing Internet gambling as an issue.

The firms representing the Sands include powerhouse K Street names like Patton Boggs and Steptoe & Johnson. The Sands also added former senator-turned-lobbyist Blanche Lincoln, the Lincoln Policy Group, and her firm to its roster of lobbyists.
