YouTube - they did it again. Banning Slot Reviews

Yes, I knew this was coming yesterday, luckily I don't get much of my traffic via YT but annoying nonetheless.

The organized trolling was always going to lead to this, as it has for many other channels.

Ah well, the developers have been spared my acidic reviews lol....

Gonna miss your vids on YT mate. Hope you manage to get the channel back at some point, will miss the cat and the rampant flatulence!

None - I contacted them asking why videos that have been up for years are suddenly 'violating' TOS but as usual with YT there is no specific reason offered. Somebody wants the channel gone, and this has been going on for a while but don't worry I know of a video space service where you get your own video domain which will be free from spurious strikes or trolling complaints so will look into that soon.

YouTube is going to the dogs anyway with its all-round purging crusade.

We already have YT for 'kids', but now adults can't view content related to adults anymore either. And I fail to see how live streaming is the same as slot reviews or highlight compilations.

Thanks YT

Genuinely hope you do manage to bring your videos back even if on another platform. Without wishing to patronise you, yours was far and above my favourite channel, and tbh, I only watch yourself and Hypalinx (now on twitch) as simply got bored with other streamers /channels

This is shite watched all your vids Dunover ... same happened to the Bandit another good guy. But he is happily posting his vids again on Vimeo who dont seem to have an issue. And YT is getting well strange ... so much supposed "graphic" content now blacked out, the moral brigade are out in force. Get on Vimeo @dunover !

A lot of the streamers seem to be putting up purposely losing videos to show the other side of gambling - like Rocknrolla - which seems to have extended their shelf life. The sooner youtube etc get legislated and regulated with as monopolies the better. Its in the post, that’s for sure. Give it a year max.

So how can channels such as Rock N Rolla stay up but yours gets culled?

Madness!

This is the thing its not consistent. Some streamers got their channels back but then they got taken away again. Some got them back and at present have been allowed ro keep them. Some havent got them back. None of the ones i watch live stream on youtube now mind. Rockinrolla doesnt live stream on you tube. Just highlights.

It all is inconsistent and makes no sense.

Isn't there some sort of appeals process one can invoke?

Its apparently really hard to actually speak to anyone about it. I think you can appeal but they don't always respond.

I watch a vlogging family.. they have over a million subscribers. They got taken down. Struggled terribly to find out why . A massive campaign on Twitter with their fans tweeting you tube non stop forced you tube to at least look and explain why. Then the family corrected the few videos there was an issue with and they were reinstated but this was only due to the volumes of people moaning. Its not right or fair. YouTube don't give a stuff.

They get pulled then back up, then down again. No method at all. And some of the worst offenders still out there with tons of links, playing massive stakes. No RG ... so it makes no sense. Seems though in the end YT will ban all gambling related content. The Bandit for example always spoke about RG, had links to gamstop etc showed his losses, didnt try to dress it up. Yet he has been banned along with a few other good ones. Sure there is a ton of spammy shite on YT gaming wise and its an ocean of click bait, but they are choosing the wrong accounts to close. Such as @dunover who anyone can see from his latest vids was hardly promoting the "winning side" of gambling. Makes no sense.

Yes, but you may find that you're reinstated then arbitrarily banished again. It's also hard to appeal when you're not actually told what has been fine for 3 years is now 'violating'.

It gets worse - just opened and paid for a Vimeo Pro account and it has been suspended within 5 minutes before I even filled my profile in and uploaded anything!

I used my Google details and YT nickname so there's probably flag sharing between YT and Vimeo going on.

Try a site called Dtube seems to be the best alternative to youtube, whilst what they do is annoying for content creators at the end of the day it's their site, they can do what they want, just like Casinomeister does not allow people posting affil links in his forum,
youtube is just doing the same thing.

I’ve got to be honest, I think there is an aspect of Youtube going after anyone monetising their channels to any significant degree. Like they cannot bare anyone else making money other than themseves on the platform. Pretty fascist business practise for such a so called “liberal” company...

It is as simple as some dumbasses that did their tits in gambling getting revenge. They blame the likes of the streamers / video producers getting people into gambling addiction when in reality they are jealous they can't gamble themselves and make some pocket money doing some affiliate work.

It is almost impossible to get to speak to a human at Youtube so the chances of getting your channel back once it is banned is extremely difficult. The channels we are talking about are "small fish" to Youtube and they couldn't care less if it is gone forever.

I hope Dunover (and the other streamers / video producers) continue to do their work and stick two fingers up to the jealous cretins doing this dirty work in the name of "looking after the problem gambler".

I am an alcoholic and I cannot drink, therefore thou shalt not either.

I had a good run there, I knew my days were numbered a while back like the rest of the slots content channels. Saves me a lot of hassle doing those slot session videos and review videos to be honest, yeah I'll lose a fraction of my traffic but then again I'll have more time to devote to other activities.

Yes, there are 3 groups here doing this - the anti-gambling trolls, rival affiliates and people who don't like free speech in certain videos. If I was as petty I could devote my time to closing other channels down, but each to their own.

You should have no troubles with with Dtube.

You do not have permission to view link Log in or register now.
(or DTube for short) is a YouTube-like video platform that is built as an application on top of Steemit. So it’s on the same platform utilising the same rules but specifically for video content. Essentially, users post videos, and are rewarded for creating and uploading content.

No Censorship
The beauty (and the beast) of the blockchain is that it’s decentralised – meaning no one entity controls what users upload and send. No video uploaded on Dtube can be blocked to viewers because of copyright or non-family friendly content. Many users enjoy this aspect as it truly empowers their creativity without limits. Brands and media companies on the other hand will be shocked to learn that there is no way for them to pull down content that has been uploaded by other users.
