It seems live streamers are being shut down by YT as we speak, letsgiveitaspin and some other prominent ones have gone, Casinodaddy too? Something to do with illegal raffles and prizes? Who knows, but it's a pisser if they extend it to channels, especially those that have website video content stored there.

Good.
I'm still waiting for Rizk to come back and tell me what their legal department said about the illegal lottery/raffle one of their streamers was running over a year ago.

I very much doubt they will do it to channels, slot videos have been on there since the start and don't violate any T&C's.

Letsgiveitaspin

This account has been terminated due to multiple or severe violations of YouTube's policy against spam, deceptive practices, and misleading content or other Terms of Service violations.

Both Casinodaddy and Letsgiveitaspins are Swedish streamers so perhaps it has something to do with that?

Plenty of non streaming channels do giveaways, yet they have not been closed down.

The description on the Letsgiveitaspin channel is rather generic so it doesn't give a clue what exactly was breached.

Casinodaddy is live now so he hasn't been shut down
On Twitch or YT?

As for slot channels Colin, they have shut down innocent ones that just review slots or show their personal experience/play like mine - ask Simmo and Conker! In fact you might find my old thread from years back where I pointed it out to people.

I have mixed feelings about the streaming hype since the beginning...
There's only a handful of streamers from here and elsewhere that i 'support', the ones taken down, as stated above, aren't on that list :p

I checked, and my Dutch youtube literally says: this account has been terminated due to repeated or serious violations of the Youtube policies against spam, misleading practices and misleading content, or other violations of the Terms of Service..

Not that generic i think: I don't know the terms of service myself, but from reading content here in the past, i know they don't appreciate affiliate links in general...and with the latest developments around responsible gambling, stricter enforcing of those policies seems like a logical step...

I'm sure the 'good guys' will remain online for now, provided they have updated their gambling related content with the 18+ trademark and links to RG related pages..
I personally think it's a good development, although i would assume they make their new or stricter policies clear, to long-standing channels, at least giving them the necessary time to update and/or remove content to adhere to those policies and terms.

I think the main issue from YouTube's point of view is the amount of links that some people are cramming into the description - it looks ugly especially when you have to put all the ASA rules and stuff there too now. A post from Google last year confirmed that no SEO power comes from these links anymore.

Speaking to some streamers today they are going to include a URL in their video rather than the description. That should be compliant with YT rules and should avoid them being shutdown.

Afterall, YouTube is there to make money for them and their 'select partners' not the rest of us.

EDIT: I've just been told that all gambling videos will have to be age restricted from later this month and users will have to be signed in to view them. If you don't you'll be closed by YouTube.

You do not have permission to view link Log in or register now.

is that not casinodaddy? I don't watch him so don't know

I wasn't aware of 'legit' channels being removed but there are plenty of aged accounts still operating fine so presumably theres a reason why they were closed. If you are following the rules, and appeal against any account closure then they do actually re-open them, its the one part of google's empire you can actually get a human response from in under 6 months, if at all.

It looks like him, but check out the fact he has only 1 subscriber lol ....

So it's a fake, or more likely he's back with a new a/c?

P.S. Nicola if you age restrict videos you cannot monetize them

Mine hasnt been shut down. Although I dont stream to it, I just have video clips of big wins when streaming on twitch.

YT has made alot of different moves lately. They have demonetized most pranksters, even some of the biggest ones like Vitaly. They have closed down some political channels that are far right and now looks like they are moving onto the gambling scene.

if you do a twitch channel I will watch you every night. I need to learn some new swear words!!! but seriously please do it again!

Good, hope they all get banned. Sick of the amount of fake shite these large streamers put out on Youtube. YT should have no gambling content at all.

It is not their new account. There are so many channels out there that steal content and make then repost it on their channel with their own affiliate links in the hope that they can generate some traffic.

I personally had some big win videos stolen and posted on Youtube. They are very quick to remove them once you report it with a copyright claim.

Nobody forces you to watch gambling content on Youtube similar that nobody forces you to watch Eastenders. Don't want to watch it, then don't search for it. Simples really.

Have you got a reference to the age restriction requirement on Youtube? I don't have a problem with it, but it will mean a reduction in viewing numbers because a lot of people don't browse Youtube when not logged in.

Yep one of the streamers who got banend today got an e-mail explaining why. He is a member here so if he wants to chip in he will. Not my place :)

It makes sense to age restrict gambling because it is a 18+ activity. I'm not a member of YouTube, so logging in will be a problem if I want to see some of the big win videos.
