These constant bloody crashes and connection issues. For the amount of money these software companies take in, you'd think they'd be able to afford a server that can handle the traffic and program something that doesn't crash every five minutes. Seriously, it's Microgaming, it's NetEnt and now bloody RTG. Seems like the only company whose software runs correctly consistently is Playtech. Bad enough I can't frigging win anything, these technical issues are really sucking the fun out of playing for me.

Oh I fully agree chayton. I hate hitting spin on a slot and seeing the immediate message:

"This game is not available right now. please try again later" on NetEnt

And that bloody awful "Contact the casino help desk and quote error:2" on Microgaming. The casino help desk have not got a clue what is wrong or how to fix it. They've no idea what error:2 means

Oh, they just want to make money, ain't nobody got time for that :)

Setting DNS servers manually can help with some game performance issues, whether it is these kind of games or other games, automatic DNS selection usually gives your Internet provider's own DNS servers regardless of how they are performing. Of course if the servers are down, having better DNS doesn't make much difference.

Here are my results from namebench

The first DNS is actually Google Public DNS-1, but it shows just shows the generic router DNS, since I use router and that is the DNS I've set my router to use.

THINKING ABOUT TRYING ANOTHER SITE SEE IF PROBLEMS THERE TOO

Agree with OP,many softwares/platforms seem to underperform lately.
I am not naming casino's but I can verify I had loads of issues lately playing Netent and WMS mainly.
Netent cuts out altogether and WMS is back to it's old laggy reel spins where it seems if the reels get shock theraphy every half of a second.
Not enjoyable at all and I agree, with the amount of money being raked in by these companies, would one not think they could deliver flawless gaming experience?

Start to lean back towards land based casino's and take the entrance fee and no smoking on the casino floor for granted.

I hear ya Chayton!! The only casino I have problems with connection errors is 3dice. When that happens I just close it out and try again later. It happens almost everytime I play there. You are right, it sucks the fun out of it.

I get that too LH. I used to contact support but was always told it was on my end.

I would always get the response too Rena, but at that time I had cable internet, and nothing else would disconnect like that. Then I had FIOS and I would still get the connection issues but only with 3dice. I wouldn't get it with RTG or Rival. Just a few months ago we changed back to cable and it is still the same.

Guts Casino been running so smoothly, no issues at all atm. No delayed reels, every game loads fast.

Unlike Slotsmagic, that place is simply torture, games take 30 minutes to load, reels delayed, etc. Got so pissed off I put my entire deposit on $40/spin autoplay and crashed out :D

I seem to be having slow spin issues in the evenings when playing on Quickfire. It's only in the evening though and it's for about 1-3 spins the it's ok for about 5 and then it's bad again. It seems to happen around 7 every evening ATM. Maybe there is a capacity issue? Regardless what the issue is though, this hurts players just as much as the software providers and casinos. Either way though I'm sure we and the casinos would dearly like to get this issue sorted. We deposit a lot at these places and the casinos in turn pay a huge amount to use the software. They need to get this sorted and quick. The longer it takes the more it seems they'e taking the Mick. We've paid you a fortune. Give us the gaming service and quality we all expect and deserve!

The problem is that once it is deemed to be "our end", the casino operator or platform provider don't take it too seriously. It's clearly more than an isolated problem, and so has to be something other than the players' end that is at fault.

Failure to deal with the problem is eventually going to hurt revenues. Make it "torture", and players are less likely to deposit, and those who have will take longer to generate a specific level of action, from which the casino makes it's money from the house edge.

It seems that the majority of the problems have always been with the browser based casinos rather than the download clients, and the increase in the level of complaints is down to there being more browser based casinos than download clients.

Development and testing under "lab conditions" just isn't good enough. More testing needs to be done over regular domestic internet connections from a variety of providers, as this could provide the data needed to trace and resolve the issue.

The industry should consider having a "debug mode" accessible to the player that when switched on will produce a log file that the player can then send back to the operator. The player can switch it on when they notice a problem, as often by the time CS are looking into the matter the problem has gone away, thus no data can be gathered. A download client is probably better placed to have this "debug mode" than a browser based casino.

Currently, players have to guess what might be the cause of the problems, and this can involve a great deal of messing around to no avail, especially when it's the casino's end that is at fault.

Just saw such error in one casino:

An unexpected application exception has occurred.

The page pool for page 'embedded/App' (in locale sv) has been exausted: there are 20 instances currently being used and no more can be created. Try increasing the hard limit (symbol tapestry.page-pool.hard-limit) to allow additional instances to be created, or increasing the soft wait (symbol tapestry.page-pool.soft-wait) to trade away some throughput for more efficient use of page instances.
