gamblers unanimous! lol
I have been reading all these posts...odd how people observe the same event and perceive it differently.
A once in a blue moon gambler might have observed the "penny trick" as a frugal, fun and inexpensive way to enjoy being in a glitzy, crowded arena with big time spenders and being a part of the excitement.
Fact is.. I have never seen a time restraint or restriction on playing a slot as long as there was activity while taking up seat space. If pennies were not allowed to be bet, they would not be an option on the machine.
I hate to see people pour ketchup on filet mignon or a slab of perfectly done prime rib, but it happens, and if that is what they "know" or like, then it is absolutely their right to sit in a public steakhouse restaurant and eat ketchup slathered steak no matter how many others are waiting for a table.
I am wondering if this penny playing pair had not won the jp and simply got up and left, if the feeling of resentment and anger would have dissolved into expectation and hope of winning the pending jackpot with highroller betting when the machine was his.
Whoever gets to a machine first and plays, regardless of their bet,and the line of players waiting, the lease is theirs until they get up and leave. I would advise impatient and nervous players to provide the small bettor with plenty of liquids! LOL
