What is the absolute worst bookmaker you can think of? Well I bet they are no where near as bad as Irish firm Boylesports. Recently, despite being WELL DOWN & NEVER having made a withdrawl from my account I was most surprised to see that every bet I tried to place was rejected. When I phoned them all they would say is "Trading Department decision" over & over again. No explanation whatsoever. When I asked them if I was barred, I got the reply "Of course you are not barred sir". Just to test out exactly how bad it was I tried to have ONE POUND on a horse @ 6/5 and the bet was refused! As I still had £80 in my account I wanted to invest it, so I then tried to back Bolton @ 8/1 with £40 each way @ 8/1. Bet rejected again. When I phoned them again they had the cheek to say try reducing the stake! As I had already tried to have a £1 e/w on them AND BEEN REFUSED I just had to laugh at them. What would it maybe be acceptable to have 50p each way? I said in a very sarcastic way. Trading Department decision was all I got back. If anyone on here is thinking about using this bookie, then I would think again. I was forced in the end to close my account as no bets were being accepted.
Now I do completely understand the need for bookmakers to restrict certain persons accounts, But to do this to a player who is actually LOSING is completely out of order.
I have worked out why they did it. When I bet horses (everyday!) I like to take good early prices. This is what pissed them off even though I was losing. Because I was doing this I MIGHT have won. They could not possibly risk that!

Below is a price comparison chart from one of today's races. If you look at it you will clearly see that Boylesports are the worst (or joint worst) price on EVERY SINGLE RUNNER! Great value bookie that is I must say.

No problem. Any bookmakers firm is a business. A business needs to make a profit. If a bookmaker identifies a customer who is winning regularly and winning large amounts of cash they are completely within their rights to ban that customer or restrict their bets. That is a legitimate business decision. What my complaint was about was having my account virtually stopped and me NOT being a winning punter, being down overall & never having withdrawn from my account. It defies belief........:(

I've never had a bet turned down anywhere, but that's probably because I'm a money toilet when it comes to gambling.

Oh... poker.... I do love poker, when it's land-based. Somehow, I almost always win money playing poker land-based. Switch to online and apparently I become a terrible player.

Until 3 years ago this has been a good bookie. After they begin to make some "mistakes" and very delayed customer assistance and not solving. At this time there are so many better bookies.

    Bad Bookies

Maybe at one time they WERE a good bookie, but certainly not anymore. When I called, emailed & wrote to them about this all I got back was the same reply everytime : Trading department decision. No explanation whatsoever. I like a good punt & use many different bookmakers but I will NEVER use this bookie ever again.

Not sure why you would even contemplate betting with them if they are so poor and with there being so many better options available.

Bookies restrict accounts all the time, not worth complaining about just accept it and move on.
Bookies are running a business and if they see someone they believe to be a long term profitable player than they will restrict them, why wouldn't they? they aren't obliged to accept your custom.

    Hi Johnny,

I sympathize with you and your problem with Boylesports.

At least you/we have the option of using different bookies and there are enough to chose from on Oddschecker.Personally I have never been refused a bet when placing it over the internet and have struck bets with quite big liabilities without any problem-25/1 and 20/1 for a score each to win and a £20 each way double is a recent one that sticks in my mind.In the past there was sometimes a problem getting got on with a bet on the course but since I began using the internet to gamble there has never been a problem getting on or getting paid out when I won.By the way the 1st leg won at an SP of 20/1 and the 2nd leg was beaten by a short head.

As I always check on oddschecker to see who is laying the best price before I bet and I have used Boylesports a few times-got on with no fuss-but as they frequently don't offer the best price my bet is not struck with them very often.

A week or two ago I backed a horse at 7/1 that was subsequently disqualified and placed second with 2 online bookies-Betfred and Winner.com-but the financial result was totally different affair.Betfred still pay out on "first past the post" as well as any amended result up to £5,000 so they paid me in full but Winner.com only settled on the revised outcome.I would suggest that you fully check the terms and conditions of each online bookie before you decide to bet with them -some are good, some are great and some are not worth bothering with.

Why don't you give Betfred a go-they will even give you a free matched bet up to £50 when you first start using them.

There is a slight problem there. I am barred/restricted at Betfred too. (& 365!) They are all bottle merchants in my view. I only have £20 bets!
