What's the worst loss you've ever had oddswise? I played 300 hands of black jack $2 a hand losing $100. Wizard of Odds standard deviation table tells odds of that happening is <1%. TYVM.. They offered me $250 reload bonus tho...

And yes. I followed the optimal strategy.

I was in Atlantic City last weekend.

Was playing some blackjack to kill some time (oh, about 8 hours worth of time) until our comped rooms opened up.

    Get dealt a 10 vs a dealer 6, double down, 20. Dealer turns a face card for 16, then a 5 for 21. Doh.

Very next hand, get dealt an 11 vs. a dealer 4. Double down and pull a 9 for a 20. Dealer turns a 10 for 14, hit, 7, dealer has 21.

Back to back hands. Land based casinos are so rigged?!!?!

Got dealt pocket kings in a 3/5 no limit hold em' game at the tropicana poker room last week.

Big blind checked, little blind called (limp) and I was on the button.

I raised $30. Big blind folded, little blind re-raised me to $75. I called.

    Flop was 3c 5h 10h.

    He checked, I bet $100.

He reraised another $100, and I called.

    Turn was ks.

    He bet $250 I raised to $700

    He called.

    River was 2h.

    He went all in ($3,750.00)

I thought about it for a good 2 mins. I thought maybe he had the flush, but based upon his eairler play he bluffed..........ALOT so I figured he was most likely doing it again. So I called, leaving me with about $60 bucks to play with in case I lost.

I toss out my kings, and he goes to throw away his hand, then flips over 4c 6 c. For the straight. I bitched about that hand for two days......non-stop.

I am over it now.......... NOT!!!!!!

I had a losing session at Vegas Strip BJ which was with probability about 1 in 120000. I also had a winning session with probability 1 in 20000.

8 outs (four 2's, four 7's)...still an utterly miserable call.

And I'm completely lost with this part...

Pre-flop...how did the blinds act before you on the button?

I was also at the Trop (assuming you mean AC, as it appears you're from PA) last friday night. Did pretty well playing $4/8, won a little over 20 BBs in two hours...best hand I was dealt was only a pairs of tens too.

Sorry, I got my position mixed up...........write it off to blind rage

And yes it was at the Trop in AC. One of the better poker rooms there IMO.

I do want to try the Borgata's room, maybe next week I will give them a shot.

    Anybody played there yet?

Actually not my worst, but an example of it.

The game is Carribean 21, where splitting any two and re-doubling is allowed.

I split 6 and 1, and doubled the 1 three times vs. the dealer's 5. My play is correct.

WHERE ARE THE 10s, WHERE ARE THE 10s!! This happens to me often enough that I am starting to dread getting a couple small cards when the dealer has a 5 or 6.

Curiously when I'm dealt two 10s, and the dealer is showing a 10, there never seems to be a problem finding another 10. :what: (Player loses ties in this game).

Not my bad beat, but a "good" one... I saw a TV special recently "Ceasar's 24/7" (?), where a couple had the hare-brained idea of risking their $1000 life savings to try to get a $10,000 stake to start a Vodka business or something.

Anyway... they were deciding where to play the $1000, and settled on sticking it all on 6 on the Roulette wheel.

Nevermind that such a long-shot was a bad idea if they only needed $10,000, and nevermind that it was a double-zero wheel. Nevermind all that, because 6 was the guy's lucky number, dammit (the 6th was his birthday, and some other equally valid reasons).

So, $1000 in chips slides onto the 6. Suspense mounts.

But wait! At the last second, the guy inexplicably switches it to an even-money, Red bet.

Never mind that's not going to get him his $10,000, and nevermind that he discarded their agreed-upon plan at the last second.

Wife stands by in uncertain support.

Ball goes around, and around, and comes up...

    Six. Black.

Couple walks off unsteadily with pale sickly expressions.

And (my guess)... wife takes advantage of liberal Nevada divorce laws that afternoon.
