windows 8 tablets ipads

Has anyone tried online "gaming" using the windows8? iS IT ANY GOOD ?
Some geeks tells me its better for me to use windows 7 since I only do online gaming and a ferw excel spreadsheerts and surfing the web. Any comments?
Or can one do online gaming with an I pad? does the casino download/

What software are you interested in? For example, most Microgaming casinos have mobile versions for Ipad.
