Browsing some old topics I bumped into this
(quote from Ed Ware, CEO of
32Red follows)
Just to confirm for anyone still wondering and please excuse the lack of technical jargon.....
The Random Number Generator does not recognize whether a bet is for fun, for 1 or for 1000 (or USD or EUR). It simply produces a random result. For this reason, you have to be connected to the Internet to play at 32Red as you are actually connecting to the gaming server and RNG.
There are other casino gaming software specialists out there whose products do allow you to play offline for fun. Quite clearly, this offline fun experience would differ for the player from the real money gambling experience when connected to the gaming servers. We don't believe that this is the right approach!
This whole area was one of the reasons 32Red selected Microgaming as our gaming platform providers.

I think that actually answers a host of questions that have been raised in the forums lately, i.e. play mode vs fun mode -> MG play mode and real money have the same payout%; small bets v large bets -> no difference in outcome, etc...
I agree that play mode and real mode should be identical, otherwise it's deceptive marketing. Looks like MG is solid this way, and again I am convinced that if there's one casino that has actually thought everything through and is being run by true pros, it's good ol' 32Red.
Cheers,
