Hey all,

Just posting here to see if anyone has any info or reasoning behind this well known British sportsbooks decision not to pay back onto a Mastercard.

I think it may be a common thing though but not too sure, I have only seen it with this company.

Basically they take the money from the Mastercard but dont pay back onto it. I read their T&C's and it does state that they dont pay back onto "international mastercards", which is fine for me because I am registered in the UK, and am down on their system as having sent in the documents to prove residence. So why not payout????

When I phoned them up, they say the system isnt allowing me to pay back to your card. I ask why, they say its because its recognising it as an international card, i say look at my address details on the system (which are verified), he comes back "after speaking to his manager" and says he cant do anything about it. He advises I phone Mastercard. I do this, and they say they allow refunds back onto cards, no restrictions.

They offer either direct bank payment or cheque as alternate options. I chose cheque and was supposed to receive within 10 days (although on site one page says cheque sent 2 business days after request processed and another page says between 7-10 days), got after 17th day after a couple of follow up calls, also got a 10 free credit which was nice of them.

But it all stems from the fact they dont pay back to card, they paid back to my old VISA card not a prob, but not Mastercard.

Any ideas???

Hi Yankee,

The rules for payments back to credit cards i.e. visa and mastercard are constantly changing - Please note that if you are not yet signed up with the recent security check systems from Visa and Mastercard, i.e. Verified by Visa and Mastercard Secure Code, you may be asked to enroll while first depositing, once done, then payments back to the card should be straightforward.

cheers for reply dazzla

but enrolled with mastercard when making 1st deposit, was an automatic thing and still not paying back to mastercard.

not really fussed about it now anyway as not going to use hills anymore. there poker is so "fixed", but i suppose a lot of players say that lol

it seems that they let you win to build u up and make u think ur invincible and then they bring u right back down to earth with a big a$$ bump

example being last 3 games, got knocked out by runner runner suck outs, and it wasnt the other guy making bad calls, it was him needing one card from 30ish and hitting, anyways not bitter lol

referring back to the issue of non payment back to mastercard, still dont know why they would not do it, perhaps it would be an idea for me to PAB and have maxd or sum1 ask the hills casino rep

Its simple - MasterCard does not support refunds back to the credit card. They have it in the beta stage at the moment and it should be ready somewhere in 2009. But at the moment refunds and CFT's to MasterCard are possible only from merchants having their account at a selected few banks participating in the tests.

just checked both ladbrokes and will hill help pages and both say they pay back to uk mastercards.

if you are correct (and i'm not saying ur not) then it means that they are taking part in these tests for uk cards, and if thats the case then why not offer the withdrawal function.

my mastercard is thru the bank of scotland, which i would assume is a uk registered company,

so back to original question, is will hill refusing to pay back to card or is mastercard not letting them???

bounced check

i was sent a check and te chck bounced

Mastercard

jleonov has it exactly right. For Players in the USA hoping they will get this soon, the CFT system specifically blocks CFT's to US Issued cards.

yankee14, your address details in the system dont mean much when it comes to cards. If your card BIN (First 6 numbers of the card number) are not in an updated BIN List at the bank or Will Hill, it will be detected incorrently, and cannot be refunded. While Visa & MC publish updated BIN lists every month (available to banks and top tier merchants only), they do sometimes miss a couple of BINS, which makes things fun.

If you like, PM me the first 6 numbers of your card (only the first 6, dont need the rest), and I will have a gander for you and see what the latest BIN List has to say about it.
