Why are microgaming casinos getting "bigger" Now 32Red

I must be in the minority in preferring the new software. I am getting the virtually the same spin rates in each games when I have 5 different ones running at once as I did when I previously ran one at a time.

Isn`t it blurry at your PC?

What screen resolution do you have? I can guess that it is possible to get it look nice in a really high resolution. This is because you then make the casino picture smaller.

Compare these two screenshots taken from same area from two different casinos:

I would have thought a fast dual core/quad core with 2gb ram would be fine for the software as it doesn't seem to need that much horsepower looking at my windows task manager. The one thing I have found in the past is the video card ram can have an effect on the perfomance of mgs software. I tried it on my netbook and it was hopelessly slow. (that machine was a 1.6 atom, 1gb ram, crappy inbuilt video).

Well, I gave it a try this morning...and I'm with SJN. I really like the new software. I played Break da Bank Again, and averaged about 800 spins per hour, and Jewels of the Orient about 1300. The resolution and graphics are just as good as they ever were, for me I mean. Please don't stone me, lol.

That being said, there are obviously problems...and MG needs to take all kinds of systems into account when testing and releasing these new upgrades and/or games. I seriously hope they come up with a fix for those of you having problems. They are aware there are display problems, and I would guess they will work on that at least.

As to performance, I'm curious what kind of graphics cards everyone has, and if they have enough "dedicated memory" for the graphics to run. Also, I was going to suggest having enough RAM in general...but Roanan has a lower end machine, and yet all seems fine. Roanan, it would be nice if maybe you could offer some suggestions to the posters here who are having trouble. Not everyone is a computer guru..and some help would be nice if you have any ideas.

Just FTR, I have 2Gigs of RAM and Intel Dual Core processors...a 21" monitor set to 1024X768...if that has anything to do with it at all.

Did you see my screenshots of the two versions?

Do you mean that your casino doesn`t look like the one to the right?

Or do you mean that you have never had as sharp picture as the one on the left?

And you are using a lower resolution than I am. This amazes me a lot.

Please don't stone me, lol.

:D

I spent 1300 on this PC, it was not just "high end" it was TOP OF THE RANGE, above it was only the likes of Alienware, now, it is no longer good enough for this latest MGS upgrade.

I'm updating this month anyway. However the rig I'm using now ain't high end no more. But that didn't experience any major dramas.

Though I do have 2 x 8800GTS + 4 gig DDR2

The casino platform did not re-size to my screen res as it used to in the previous MGS versions.

Granted the reels were a tad clunky; slow. But when I changed games I deleted my IE cache and each slot worked a treat after that.

IE is intergated into MGS download platform. Hence clearing the cache can help with slow and clunky slots. Least it's a band aid till MGS pulls their finger out

I guess some of you don't have the first clue on how to tweak your computer properly.

Without getting hammered Roanan is probably on the mark.

I still run XP but I run it bare bones. No eye candy.

I've used the guide here for XP and have done so for a few years now. Word of Warning - Don't stuff around with the registry if you don't know what your doing.

And if you can't help yourself, please take a back-up of your registry first.

Well, most of their players are "most people", the very ones who don't really know much about tweaking a PC other than getting hold of off the shelf performance boosting software.

MGS should have included a guide on how to optimise your PC for the new lobby upgrade, but any advice given is woefully out of date, and has hardly changed in years.

My monitor is full HD, and is set to this setting. The new MGS casino is larger, but still fits easily in my screen, however it IS all blurry, since no use has been made of the greater size, and they have been lazy, simply enlarging the standard definition graphics rather than reworking them to HD. If they had done, they would have remained sharp.

I find particular problems with the AWP games. MGS have reintroduced the bug they introduced last spring, and fixed later last year, where they ran REALLY slow, and seemed to take a while to process instructions. This means that although the gaming server responds quickly, it takes the game a few seconds to notice, so you get "server lag" of up to 5 seconds EVERY DAMN SPIN. The bonus feature movies also play in slow motion, cops and robbers for example - the burglar and copper run much more slowly, and the sound loop repeats itself making the fault even more obvious. It's like the game has been soaked in syrup, and is trying to operate whilst enveloped in a viscous mess. I set up the Flash version of All Slots, and the AWP games play as before, no molassess effect. Further, the 6 AWP games removed from the download casino are still there in the Flash version.

Stupid MG. I was gifted free spins from a number of casinos. Was never able to use them. The spins were there but I just couldnt click on them.

Oh c'mon, that should not be necessary to play an online casino, jeez.
These tweaks are useful if you run heavy music or video editing software, like Cubase SX for example.
Btw I have my XP tweaked from the start, no eye-candy, optimal performance, and it doesn't give sh*t.
No wonder, it was fine until the update, its crap after the update, so the problem is the update, simple as that.

AussieDave, 2x 8800GTS is enough to play Crisis on the highest possible settings, so its not really a surprise the casino is running fine, as its just simple 2-D.

I think many people don't even notice the difference between 60 and 85Hz. refreshrate, and just start swallowing aspirins, not knowing where that terrible headache comes from.

Roanan, you only play the freeroll, which is done in 5 min., try to play for 3 hours straight and then tell me everything works 'just fine'.

I think its the softwareproviders responsibility towards the operators to make their software accessable for as many players as possible.
Microgaming have dramatically failed here.
That we now need a PC thats solely capable of running the entire Kennedy Space Control Centre is nothing less than insane IMO!

The new games run fine for me (GoWild) and I haven't ran into any problems as far as seeing the whole lobby/games/whatever on my screen. The fonts look fine and the games run just as smooth as before.

I only have a 16" WS monitor, and it's set to its native resolution of 1366x768@60hz. My CPU is an AMD FX-62 (2.8ghz), 2gb of DDR2-800mhz ram (dual channel mode) and a GeForce 8600GT video card with 512mb memory.

I had sent Mark from 32RED a PM about this and just received a mssg back that Microgaming are fully aware of the problems the recent update caused and that they are working hard on a solution. :)

So there is light at the end of the tunnel!

I just logged into 32Red a moment ago to play the daily freeroll and they have reverted back to the old software.

A few MGS casino are following suit. Found this press release for Casino Rewards who did not go ahead with the up-grade. Instead chose to follow player feedback and stay with the old installation. You read all about that here:

I've been playing over at Dash (they didn't upgrade) :D

First was River Belle (outta my line up) then All Slots, now a whole barge load. Sucks! Hard to fit too many in when I'm registering multiple aliases for tournaments with reduced room on monitors to fit all those sites it. I betcha Jopae1-Jopae999 is none too happy about it, either!

Yeah - that was me.
I sent them an e-mail saying if they didn't switch back (or fix the new software) I would NEVER play there again!

Ive been playing on both, the new upgrade and the old software, and the old is deff better IMO, so unless it gets changed back to the original i doubt i will be playing at any casino with the upgrade.

Whoa! That's deep! WTG! Stick to yer guns!

I logged in to Golden Tiger (Casino Rewards) and all I get is a blank green screen with the various option tabs listed across the top. None of them take me anywhere except back to the blank screen. No homepage at all for them. Not sure I want any on the job training at this point with them. Anyone have any idea how I can get it to log me in and display the homepage??
