Who's The Bride (Dead Or Alive) - Who's the robbing bandit, more like

You're trying to compare apples with oranges though. I mean, I paid my car insurance for the year last week which was around £800. Then on Saturday me and Mrs Lemon went out for the day shopping and had a tasting-menu dinner - this all came to another £800.

Fuck me, what a waste of money the car insurance was. I mean you don't even get anything tangible for it do you? Just a bit of paper in the post if that...

I'm comparing discretionary entertainment spend with discretionary entertainment spend, sounds pretty apples to apples to me.

So here's a thing, I've been playing through Assassin's Creed Shadows, here's my current playtime in the game, 37 hours.

Note this isn't me having finished the game, I'm only about a third of the way through the main campaign, I've been spending loads and loads of time on the side content which I'm finding really fun and engaging.

I paid the princely sum of £39 for the game, a key for the PC version that activates through Ubisoft Connect.

Last night I deposited £105 at VS and Who's The Bride took the lot off me, on fucking 18p spins, in two hours and twenty minutes. Never once was I in profit by so much as a single penny. The whole experience was desperately miserable from start to finish.

You see my point.

This isn't a money thing, insofar as I can easily afford gambling like this, but the sheer fucking waste of money that it represents really, really rankles with me when online slots pull bollocks like this.

Assassin's Creed Shadows looks like this. This isn't a static image, it's a screenshot of realtime rendering from within the game:

That’s why, as you know, skanky ultra HV slots largely suck. Yes, you can hit pay dirt if you are exceptionally lucky but you are getting next to no entertainment out of it. In theory you should be paying ~£18 @ 18p/spin over around 2000 spins, and that’s at 95% RTP.
That’s if the slot, and there are now many, wasn’t such an UHV POS, you’d undoubtedly get more bang for your bucks (£18 for 2hrs 20mins would be pretty good really), but as you say, this isn’t one of those slots.
I generally just can’t get too heavily into these sorts of slots for the exact reason that I pretty much have to write off my money 95% of the time before I even start, knowing I’ll likely not see any sort of significant win. I may give them a few lotto type efforts if I happen to be up from some slots which are not quite such money suckers.

Dear NetEnt,

Please stop giving all my money to Kroffe.

Best regards,

Chopley.
