Warning Spoliers Who Will Take the Iron Throne?

No one. The Night King will lead his dead and destroy all living men and woman except one . He will then fatally wound the last living person who before dying will manage to kill the wild king therefore destroying all the dead .

Then Games of thrones land will be a peaceful land except for the occasional fight between cats and dogs:)

lol, mine isnt as exciting as all that :)
I'd thought Jon and Daenerys jointly ruling, but seems so obvious, and gonna guess they agree to sucede to Gendry to avoid a war and division between them, and cuz he's so gosj darn swell and humble (and maybe cuz Bran suggests they do) :p

maybe divvy up the 7 kingdoms; Sansa, Arya, Sam getting some feifdoms

 Guess what. I had never watched Game of Thrones till about 6 weeks ago.

Then over last six weeks i slowly worked my way through the 7 series finishing series 7 last Monday.

But who knows what will happen in it. Guess i better watch the latest episode tonight or i will end up watching all series 8 well after it is finished.

id sooner binge the last season whem it's done but i know I'll stumble across spoilers which will ruin it for me on social media or here, or somewhere

I'm quite certain it's not going to be Dany or Jon, that just doesn't seem to fit the story. I think Gendry could actually have a chance to be installed as king if the Targaryens die out and he will be recognized as Robert's bastard. Wouldn't bet my money on that but he's my dark horse pick.

epic episode - very movie-esque

Note: 0 spoilers

Dany bugged the piss out of me for being useless.
Though epic, still could be a grander scale - still hasnt surpassed the shock value of the red wedding

more to come thankfully :)

I'll be saddened if the dog dies :laugh:

what i love about game of thrones to me its like the great sopranos every episode has to be watched 2/ 3 times to catch those little details you missed whilst

watching the big picture, the first 2 of season 8 done exactly what i thought buy bringing everyone back to the fold,

Wow, just wow! Epic episode in an epic show.
I expected everyone to die, couldn't think how they could survive the battle.
And then Arya, small, fast, stealthy and deadly turns the arrogant Night King into ice cubes! Just wow!
Everything that happened so far led to this. Everything eveybody did in the show made it possible for Arya to be here and be able to save the world.

I guess this also proves Cersei right, she let them kill each other and now her problems are solved? :eek2:

I think this season so far looks aimless. I think the whole thing with Arya could have been done better, for instance, if she took the face of one of the dead and then did what she did it would make more sense for her character arc. What was the point of Bran??? Hopefully, he will get some payoffs in the last 3 episodes.

I think the Iron Throne will go to one of the ladies even though it clearly belongs to John Snow. But it's 2019 and almost everything on TV now is about intersectional feminism.

It is a good show but will not beat the best TV show ever which to me is Breaking Bad. The Sopranos was awesome too. When people start pushing agendas into their projects at the expense of the story then we get a hot mess. Thing A. happens because of ...reasons?

Oh wow, missed this thread first time round! I'd hate for Daenerys to take the throne though it's basically a dead cert.

I'm hopeful Hoptpie will make a late bid, but I fear he's too busy stuffing his face with cake

At this late stage I think we might see a surprise from Branny boy too

But how about last night's episode eh? It had been what 1 & 2 had been building up to. Finally!

Ok so now the dust's settled from the visual spectacle of 'The Long Night' I have to agree with what's being said about it.

The way these writers are butchering the series' end is felony-worthy, as encapsulated in this analysis piece

Spoiler-rific so beware!

I can answer every single one of the "objections" to the plot he makes in that video. :D
No, really I can! Maybe because I didn't spend any time thinking about what I want to happen, or what everything means, or the books....
I simply waited to see, so I deff wasn't disappointed. If you think about it, everything happened for a reason.

Arya has magic, magic killed magic, makes perfect sense. No need for a mask and probably there is a secret passage from the castle to the tree.
Even the stupid move to send the Dothraki against the dead helps the story move forward. The real enemy, the real threat is Cersei.
And now there is no army or dragons to fight!
The real prize is the throne. It is called game of thrones for a reason. ;)

See I thought the politicizing and power games by 'man' was to become secondary to a greater threat in the end, and therefore a joke of sorts.

R R Martin would have never written it like this and would have avoided familiar tropes like we saw in that episode. It might as well be called Narnia now :D

And to add, the writer's love for Arya is laughable. She has so much plot armour it's unreal

Expectations and disappointment ...... been there
