Hi,

Over time, during different weather conditions, it has often been discussed which would you

prefer? With there being only TWO choices.

1) Too Hot!!!

2) Too Cold!!

I have ALWAYS preferred too hot............. this cold is for the frickin penguins !!

A Lot of people say, "Oh, I'd rather be too cold, I can always warm up!" Ya think?

I am having serious doubts about that!

The "Arctic Vortex" or "Polar Vortex", or whatever-the-hell it is called, needs to cease and

desist!!

This is central Illinois, NOT the North Pole !

Sign me,

Central Illinois Penguin

I generally prefer to be cool - which I'm quite used to as I live in England!

But if I had to choose between TOO hot or cold - I would choose hot and save a fricking fortune on our outrageous gas and electric bills!

Hi All,

I used to prefer 'cold' weather. pls note that in my country cold weather means no more than 9 degrees Celsius at night and perhaps around 16 during the day - so this used to suit me fine. And helps with the bills as we don't really need them for heating - (I secretly still prefer this weather)

I have kids so the winter months means coughs, colds, infections...you name it so I started to prefer the hot weather. Our summer months are no joke and can reach like 45 degrees C...my bills increase bad time as an a/c is a must wherever you go!

Enjoying the beach would be your best bet but since I will be at work all day, it doesn't happen often.

Spring and Autumn are practically no existent. Its either cold or hot weather..no middle!

At the end of the day, I try my best not to let the weather get in the way of my day and just go along with it.

Regards,
Rebecca

Well, that's what MOST people prefer P.V. ................ That is NOT one of the options!

LMAO!

And yes, Clinton is 22 miles north of us............. We are in Decatur, the armpit of Illinois!

Ok hot then. :D I was born and raised in Clinton, too much snow and long cold winters for sure! Glad i moved but it's freaking cold in the south too.

Cool. Not warm, not hot but just...cool:cool:

With a little fan action if the air is still and a pool to just , well, just float in.

Nothing more and nothing less.

Well, yes..a 72 degree blue sky , sea-lined abode.:)...or summink like that.lol

Now secret........... that is not a choice!:p

But, that does sound perfect!

If I had to choose way too hot or way too cold though, I have to go with the heat.

This last couple weeks here has been just bitter cold with ridiculous wind chills. The kids have had

school cancelled on 4 days of it, some from too much snow, but mostly because of the bitter cold.

I've lived here all of my adult life and honestly don't remember it ever being this cold!

Too what?

Too hot or too cold what a great choice, I’d like the chance to sample the both. Unfortunately in some parts of UK we get neither in all respects, there is a weather pattern that seems to permit snow and sunshine but it’s quickly followed by rain.

Probably some good advice to people visiting the UK is to wear a light hooded raincoat as it offers double protection, that being if it’s sunny it shields you from the sun to a point before it rains and if it’s cold it offers some warmth before it rains and the temperature raises.

You’d be probably resigned to the fact that throwing a bucket of water over you before you left of a day was a nod to the water god’s that you got there first before they showered you.

Something like that anyway…….

Hot any day... less clothes to wear and have to wash... but then I'm extremely fortunate that I have a pool and AC (not that I use the AC much because electricity is ridiculously expensive in Australia).

I feel for you guys living in the polar vortex regions! Hope spring comes early for you this year.

I guess I didn't think about the members here from ALL over the world.

I would relish a "year round" temperature of 70-ish! I can't say that I have ever had such an experience.

Anyway............ woke up to yet ANOTHER round of that white shit falling this morning!

Spring can't get here fast enough for me.........

Same here KK....

Fed up feeding this bloody gas meter but i have a solar panel and tbh, it has saved me a fortune..would highly recommend.

Ya know, I used to always answer 'cold' to this question (being born and raised and still living in the southern USA, hot weather - usually 6+ months of 'hot' - around here involves humidity and a lot of profuse sweating ... not perspiring... I'm talking real, soggy, stinky honest to goodness sweat pouring out of every pore), as I hate my shirt sticking to my back.

BUT.... this winter is killing me and my wallet trying to stay warm. We had -1 degrees F this week. Really? In Alabama? I think there's been a Transporter malfunction, Capt'n and I've been dumped into Canada or the Arctic or some such .... Sheesh... I'm freezing my magnolias off here.... 3_8_300.gif

Exactly! This is the middle of the country and I know we do get some garbage weather but, come on! Tomorrow, yet again a high expected around 18F........ snow crap all day today and tomorrow too, I think.

David thinks I am getting cabin fever........... after the weather report last night, I almost threw a shoe at the TV!

He would have shot me (65 in. smart TV).......... but it WOULD have put me out of my weather misery!

I'll take too cold any day over too hot. I agree with an above poster, you can always bundle up more but you can only strip down so much before you risk arrest! The heating oil bill is murder but the electric for air conditioning is no joke either.

I also like when there is snow on the ground because then my yard looks just as good as all the others.

Well, after yet a couple more weeks of this nasty ass cold, I have decided to re-visit this thread.

We are, yet again, in the throws of bitter cold here in the mid-west. I am so, so, so sick of this crap!

I am beginning to think the earth has shifted and put the USA directly under the polar ice cap.

If I had a gun, I don't know who I would shoot first: Old Man Winter, Mother Nature, or Punxsutawney Phil!!!

Has anyone changed their minds on their choice?

Being from the same state as you, I understand that!!!! I walked into the bedroom last week looked at hubby and kept saying REDRUM REDRUM !!! He got dressed and took me out to breakfast. Smart man. This weather is bad.

As for hot or cold, my choice is hot. I rather pass out from heat then loose a body part to frostbite!

I'm hoping Mother Nature is over her PMS so we can get some nice weather again. If not I buying a condo somewhere warm to veg out in because honestly my body hurts!

I am all about the heat, left the cold confines of the Canadian Prairies for the west coast years ago, Vancouver is about as warm as it gets in the winter here in Canada, much like Seattle. I also have property in Phoenix but can only be down for 6 months at a time, need to find me an nice American woman to help me with my visa :D
