"What's That Sound?" Competition!

Every competition brings chancers, it's up to the competition 'host' to remove the wheat from the chaff.

The rule number 1 should be must have made at least 20 posts and be active here. he's made 5 ffs!! and has not hardly participated I don't even know who he is??

It's not rule number one but they need more rules to stop people from doing this. And @incrediblestuff I know but this kinda crap is happening far too often and it's ruining the contests for others. He even admitted he pinched my answers?! If you read back.

I was excluded from this one anyway, but only knew 2..so ..for me it's fair game, regardless which one of you is correct
Also, i haven't seen it happen often that s1 won 'who just came for the freebie' and as i am telling you - he is not just some newbie - he has been around for years, and has contributed, i remember

Although I don't favour it, putting most of the answers out there is always going to run the risk of someone snatching them. It goes against the spirit of the competition but unless you get 100% right it can happen, unfortunately

You may want to ammend rule one to be more specific about the geographical boundries for your comps x
Technically, Ukraine is part of the continent of Europe but not part of the EU (so Ivan does reside in Europe). Also, pondering the fact that, as the UK are in the midst of BREXIT does that exclude us?
What about members who fail to put their country on their profile? e.g. I come from outer space?

You can blame me (Rachel) for the most recent clip and for the rules. I should have specified EU (just because sending champagne outside the EU would end up costing the recipient custom fees etc). This is meant to just be a bit of fun, and when someone guesses the vast majority of the sounds I have to reward that Ivan will get a bonus on his account but, to be fair, Dave earned the hamper for being first to guess so 4 out of 5

But still i want to ask @dave1888: why you react so aggressively to my post, although on the first day the situation was completely the same - you guessed 4 answers and then next participants were able to use them for their posts. Why you did not ask the same questions and did not propose changing the rules?

What first day?? I got annoyed as you actually admitted you used my answers. Particularly as I spent a long time looking for legend of the pharaohs(using fun play to try out various games, slots breaking on me,loading times etc)

And it is quite obvious that the rest of the people who answered after you saw your post and used it. But you did not attack JDRocks, Supababe or incrediblestuff and did not ask them whether they used your answers.

I suppose you have a point but I would say those were easier to guess most know the music to immortal and copy cats. Also with that one I had really no idea of the 5th answer.

See that's just the thing guys: i for one was already in the thread (on the very first day), listening to the sounds..and didn't even see any replies, thought i was first, then posted, and then i saw 'there have been replies' since you posted and the option to 'show'...

This is always the 'risk', just as posting as first is a 'risk' as indeed, some people may know a few, but not all, and ten recognize that you were correct, so post all the correct answers, and win
That's just the point of the game - there's no rule against it, and there shouldn't be

Take the other thread - where players often ask for position or a total win..there people often go in between or over certain numbers, that were posted before - to increase their chances slightly - would you call that unfair? it just isn't.

Don't get me wrong, i'm not trying to dictate anything here, but i am saying, let's let the rep decide what's what, so far they have been doing a great job and it's all free -and in the spirit of good fun -hence no reason to get upset
