Hi everyone,

I'm working with a team to develop some fresh, exciting online casino games, and we want to create experiences that players like you genuinely enjoy and find engaging. We’re not a massive studio—just a small team passionate about creating games that add something different to the typical casino experience. Your feedback could genuinely shape what we create, and we’d love to hear from you!

Here’s what we’re curious about:

Hiya Dennis,

Just jumping in here real quick -

You say you're working with a team? Who is we? :D

We have strict rules on posting as an iGaming casino rep (more info here) - I can point you into the right direction to get that straightened out (you can't be using a gmail address unless you are working for Google).

We actually have a service set up to answer your questions on game development. That would probably work better for you since we select the players to give you suggestions and can beta test your games.

Hi there!

Thanks for clarifying. Just to expand a bit—we’re a small team of three who are passionate about casino games and are just starting to explore the iGaming space. Right now, we’re focused on understanding what players truly enjoy so we can eventually create games that resonate. We’re definitely not a company yet and are far from becoming formal iGaming reps; for now, we’re really just looking for guidance on where to begin and what direction to take.

I’ll check out the guidelines you shared to make sure we’re fully aligned with the community’s rules. The service you mentioned for structured feedback and beta testing sounds like it could be really helpful once we have a prototype. In the meantime, is there any way to gain some initial insights on player preferences to guide our early brainstorming?

Thanks again for all the help, and I’ll reach out if we have any questions along the way!

Well it costs a low 6-figure sum to develop a new game, minimum, plus the game has to be tested, audited and approved before you can even sell it to operators. (This is why many slots get 'cloned'.)

So yes, assuming you know all that beforehand it makes sense to get a rough idea of the basic attributes of any potentially successful online game.

We have a Gaming Alalysis Group on here which has in the past tested and supplied opinions on new slots from exisiting developers, but I am not sure you are anywhere near that stage right now but when you have a working prototype, as you said we can probably assist.

You cannot help repeating old formulae - remember the ingredients are almost all already out there like reels or grids, stacked symbols, wilds, reels, cluster pays, scatter pays, progressive play elements, multipliers, random modifiers etc. - it's down to how you blend them and choose to do the maths that makes a game playable or not.

Which online casino games? There are quite a few of them. Here are some:
  • Blackjack
  • Roulette
  • Baccarat
  • Poker
  • Craps
  • Slots
  • Crash
  • Video Poker
  • Keno
  • Bingo
  • Dice games
If you mean slots, then i would prefer something simple like

that i can understand within a couple of minutes. And with an RTP of no less than 96%, medium-high volatility, and a max win potential per bet of 15,000+x. A bonus game hit rate of 1 in around 150 spins would also be good.

When it comes to slot players, the sooner you realise that one size fits all isn’t an option you’re half way there to a successful start.

No individual slot caters for all slot player types, so once you know which players you want to target you can design a slot for them.

The whole process is far more involved and complex than people think.

I always dreamt of a slot that tracks your progress permanently. Sort of like, the more you play, the more XP you have. It doesn't have to translate to bigger prizes, but it can go to new skins, new options, new promo codes. A slot that remembers you forever, even if you played it at a different casino, all the spins you ever played. Wouldn't that be cool?

I have a sneaky feeling they already do that 😜

That sort of thing has been done before, IGT I think it was, as a player I avoided it like the plague and I’m guessing everyone else did as they disappeared fairly quickly and from a providers point of view it was not worth all the work involved and the pure maintenance of it would be huge.

Not going to happen but....

A new up to date version of the download style Viper client, similar but more modern encompassing multiple providers, better graphics and audio, plus MG 9 liners spinning as they used to back then without the freeze in between spins and me pummeling away at the mouse button to get it to spin. (UKGC 3 sec rule, felt more like 10!)

If they already did, then why not let the player benefit too, if not from a profit perspective, then experience? :)

Interesting, never heard of it. Why did you avoid it? Again, I'm for the experience, not the profit. I still play some games I should abandon just for that brain-addiction to see how many more % points I can get in terms of progress.

I'm not sure its really more work involved, and like johnny said, it's already been done in a sneaky way ;)
