What is the story behind your username?

Several years ago when my grandson was about 3 (he is 17 now) I had a gift shop and my logo was a big butterfly that looked like it was dancing across the sign....my grandson looked up at the sign one day and said to me "look nana...that buttafwy (butterfly) is "boogey-ing" therefore I started using the name butterflyboogie elsewhere including a online shop "Butterflyboogie's Place"...lol. It just stuck with me coming from my BFF =)

I believe Mr Teka is your real name :p:D:p:)

Great idea for a topic!
I am from the Netherlands and the Dutch translation for gambling = gokken. Second a we have a little toy animal with a very big nose, one of my daughter's favorites to play with. The toy claims to be a horse but we at home all know it is a cow because of his huge nose. The translation for a very big nose in Dutch = gok. We name this toy gokkie. So when I started gambling about 10 years back gokkie was the name to go with . And yes my daughther is 10 years old now:thumbsup:

Mine is taken from my ancient NWN (Neverwinter Nights) characters name, melody ogham! Back in the days when I used to do allnight battles with my guild, it was my game generated name and I liked it so i've stuck with it. Melody always already in use hence the extra l. I pondered Lucy nation but pleased I left the drug references to Goatwack! :p

I remember participating in a similar thread at least once, more likely twice:p
But forum-life always changes to some extent, dynamic as it is, so the old threads get lost, or even become obsolete..

For me it was just crazy: visiting this site for the first time i was still green behind my gambling ears, at least the Online side of it, and was just on my 'Virtual Casino Tour' so to speak, whereby the emphasis lies with the word Virtual - that roguest of rogue..That casino, and a few sisters, not perse from the same group of people, but just as nefarious and void of moral standards as the former, pissed me off immensely, so i wanted to find out more about them...

Seeking counsel, and info, to be able to fight back against these 'scummers' (find this a good mix of scammers and scumbags) i soon landed here, and then - some of the stuff i read here was just..incredible! Which naturally prompted me to sign up, and participate :D

So there you have it..

I was a singer back in the 70's and 80's in NYC. My partner and I had the good fortune one night to sing in
front of Red Auerbach who was then a coach of the Boston Celtics.
He liked our performance so much he gave us a very generous tip and sent us a bottle of champagne.
I turned to my friend and said "Steve, we're almost famous".

Thats awesome. What year was it? Was it at a club or bar? Was he smoking a cigar?

Best story of a name ever!

I'm sure every member of CasinoMeister has already read the page on my website:

But for the 2 or 3 who haven't and who are too lazy to click that link, I bring you by the miracle of Cut and Paste...

"Unfortunately got into gambling at a very early age (in my teens), but have always been reasonably controlled and never got into really serious debt. First played in a real casino in the mid 90’s, and turned to the online version in 2001.

I was already starting to be pretty good at winning online when early in 2002 I was introduced to the husband of my wife’s friend’s, friend. This guy introduced me to the game of poker – something I have never forgiven him for because it cost me $1,000’s!! :(

For about 6 months I occasionally went to a little ‘poker school’ with him, playing mostly Omaha for relatively low stakes. I won some & lost some, but always enjoyed it. The real poker games stopped when my new friend got heavily into debt due to letting his gambling get out of control, and he just suddenly gave up all betting completely. Shortly afterwards he moved away and we lost all contact.

Anyway, the whole point of this story is that he called himself ‘Poker Prince’ – he even had a cap with this name embroidered on the front. (How sad!) It was this that gave me the idea to start calling myself ‘Kasino King’ – and as you can tell, I’ve stuck with it ever since!"

KK (since 2002!)

Mine is just random numbers, do the same thing on all websites no need to remember any of them either, firefox takes care of that.
Good job you didn't ask the BTG rep to pick the RANDOM numbers for you - otherwise your user-name would have been something like 00000000

KK

Our name comes from our sports & casino website, simple as that - if you have any questions about it or want to know more, you can always feel free to ask on the forums or PM us.

This will probably be a bit of a longer explanation but i kinda love telling that story... Back in the days like 15-20 years ago i played table-tennis on a pretty good amateur-level (at least good enough to have some spending money while going to school / starting university)...

Sporting 120-130kg at 180cm i was the opposite of an athlete - pretty hilarious, always looking like getting a heart attack few minutes into the games... Making up for that with just being to stubborn to give up AND being loud, very loud... :) A teammate caught sumo-wrestling on tv and thought Yokozuna was a good new nickname for me, so i kinda had to deal with it.

I did hate it so much that at some point i got supermad and was yelling at the guys, kinda ready to start a fight:

"fucking idiots! this is not funny anymore... you assholes, so stupid that you cant come up with something else!?" - not wasting any time, one of them answered: "Well, Takanohana would be too long"... followed by a few seconds of awkward silence... and suddenly everyone bursted out laughing - me included... the insta-delivery just was so funny, made it impossible to stay angry...

Having 1 or 2 beers after the game transformed into getting falling-down drunk together and "Takanohana" got shortened to "Takka"... God knows why, but somehow that nick really stuck & spread quickly - more or less replacing my real name..

These days my mum is kinda the only one calling me by my first name... Even at work everyone goes with my nickname, which is always funny when a new intern says my real name and only gets "Who?" and some weird lookes for that. ;-)

tl;dr: fat guy getting nicknamed after a sumo-wrestler... nickname stuck even after losing 40kilos+

edit: you know those suggestions you get on some sites when trying to sign-up with a name thats already taken? thats how the "one" got added by aol ages ago

I've entrusted this secret to one other member here, Superhero style :eek2:

It's very short and not worth anyone's time, but I will confirm it doesn't involve goats :D

GOAT=Greatest of all time
WACK=crazy/wicked/off the chain/messed up/sick

You're probably a gamer. If so, that is a bitchin nick. If not, maybe a serial killer? *nervous laugh

Well my name is also derived from my all-time favorite slot I used to play in the arcades in The Netherlands.
I used to play a slot called Lotus and me and my brother always use to empty these. The Jackpot at the time was 200 credits in the top game which was equal to 50 Dutch guilders...When the Euro made it's entrance 200 points was worth 40 Euro.

Those were the days there was no such thing as online gambling or maybe very very little.
This slot was released at least 30 years ago by BFM (Bell Fruit) in The Netherlands.

I used to have one in my house but when I relocated to Ireland I sold it.
You can but them for around 100 quid with keys and working payout system on Dutch marketplaces.

So there you go: LOTUS = LOTUSCH :D

Back when GMail was invite only, I mis-spelled my full name and google wouldn't let me change the username, so for nearly 15 years i've been stuck as benmooe instead of Ben Moore

LOL, one of the best explanations
