Question What draws you to the highly volatile slot DOA?

Well coming from the founding father of the 'Craze' here at CM:

1. Sticky Wilds
2. HUGE Hit Potential
3. Decent RTP
4. No silly win animations

I remember a few years back when i started playing this slot and posting. What attracted me first was the sticky wilds and I ultimately continued chasing just to get all 5. I had no idea that the Slot would give me some of my biggest wins EVER. There are few slots which can boast paying 2000x plus more than once across the network in a week.

I used to be a Break Da Bank Again / Santa's Wild Ride player. But having played BDBA for such a long time and never seeing the top award made me actually wonder what my chances were... I had major losses at MG so I opted to be faithful to DOA instead and it DID pay off in the long run.

The reason i continue to play this slot (Mostly FLASH) is because it was never tainted with the dreaded Netbent Variance seen in almost ALL their releases after StarBurst. Netent grew their business to offer crappy payouts and boasted that they have 'High Payouts / Returns'. I recall their CEO coming out a while back and noting this as well as the fact that they would continue the trend with their new releases.

IMPO NetEnt have made some good releases but they continue to make DREADFUL games with the starburst engine and animations to irritate the living hell out of you. I sometimes wonder who their head of design is as they can't understand or acknowledge that animations are destroying the overall gaming experience. For NetEnt it has been all about the 'Lights and Video' show with games that pay SHIT. To top this off, the introduced slots with wilds which were worth 1/10th of what they should be (See Magic Portals et. al)

Well my entire explanation and rant brings us back to WHY we play DOA. There isn't any bullshit, there is big hit potential and the slot doesn't wipe the floor with you in 10 seconds. Most of NetEnts new releases intend to do exactly that. It has been said here by many members that NetEnt's business model is to clean players out as soon as quick as they can - I largely agree.

Once DOA is fully migrated to HTML across ALL Casinos, I foresee that it WILL get less play. This is once again down to the poor design from the NetEnt team and their inability to make decent loading / playing HTML 5 games. It sometimes makes me wonder whether their team actually PLAY slots or are they reliant on designers who ONLY Design. If they genuinely had REAL slot players, they would have better games or even better 'playing' games.

Well i am sure many seasoned members here would echo my sentiments. NetEnt has brilliant IDEAS, they just put them into practice really POORLY and desperately need a team that can create slots like DOA, Jack and the Beanstalk, CFTBL (Minus Variance) and the Wishmaster without the need to destroy the playing experience.

DOA still rocks (In FLASH)

I started playing because I have been on the quest to find the legend that is the wildline...But tbh, even 5 extra free spins in the bonus would do.
I've had the 4 scatters of death , that's about as exciting as it's gotten for me.
Yet still, the quest continues.

Im still chasing the wildline and 5 scatters..

Ive had a few 5 extra spins and 4 scatters, but thats all.
No big win yet.

Was playing this morning, few hundred spins over two casinos.

First casino got two bonus rounds and the only card I got was the one on the end and a prize of ..1.26

Second casino, not even a bonus.

I'm just having crap crap luck lately.
Casumo especially seems to be just dire for playability.

Made a start on my DOA article. Am quite enjoying it so far, but need a break from it now. Have tapped up a few contacts at NetEnt to find out if they can give an opinion on it from their side.

Structure is a little like this at the moment

Intro
DOA at Casinomeister
Why is it so popular?
Flash v's HTML5
Any insights from NetEnt
Conclusions

If anyone has some suggestions they would like to see or would like to contribute in anyway then please drop me a PM.

Honestley to me the "new" version plays the same as the old one. Plenty of bonus rounds most of the time.

I walked with proffit 4/5 times i played the new one. Had several big wins on it.

The thing that makes this game good is it has the potential for insane wins and at the same time it does not empty your balance quick. I mostley get allot of playtime when i play this vs the newer net ent games. But the game is extremley boring to play tough.

I love DOA. When I only have say $5 or $10 left in my balance I go and play Doa on 9c spins which I used to turn into $200 and more.

Its a great game for the low rollers and high rollers. Not many if any games you can win big on minimum bet.

A challenging game makes it fun :)

Because of the potential of huge wins at low stakes

0.09p bet can return 300 quid and i have never seen a game that pays this high n doesn't bleed u dry

i played the ir same amount as doa for 1 year, returns were only 2 wins of 500x on ir and 7 wins of 2000x plus on doa

Play an MG 243 and it can blow 100 quid in 10 mins at 0.30, play doa at 0.45 with 100 quid balance and it will atleast last for a long session. at 0.45 on doa 5 scatters will pay u 2500x bet while almost 99% other slots pay b/w 100x - 500x for 5 scatters

In 5 years, 57 wins of 1000x plus on doa (40 are over 2000X) whereas 10 on all other slots n in my first 2 years i didnt touch doa
