What are the odds?

I recently deposited $100 at CON and well... wanted to jump into their BJ Tourney.

I've not had anything happen to me like this before. So, have a look.

Was just wondering what are the chances of this happening? (hand 6 - 10)

Ps. Please don't mind my lousy screenshot. It was not editted properly.

I've been running into hot dealers (w/multiple BJ & 21's) quite often at MG casinos as of late... actually, since '01.

While I don't like this happening, as long as the rest of the game is balanced, it's not so pivotal. Of course, it REALLY pisses me off in that it seems to happen with frequency on increased bets (as in large bets).

your quite right about increased bets and MG's look at this screenie on my first bet after increasin the stake.

in response to the opening poster i make your event about a 30,000-1 chance, my screenie is about a 400,000-1 chance that happened to me yesterday.

Expectation by fraction of original bet for 77 v 7
stand -0.478169
hit -0.329129
double -0.685903
split (no double after split) -0.105023
split (double after split allowed) -0.048918

If you had hit, or split and won, would you still made a "rigged" post, or would you have just thought "that's a lot of sevens" and counted your win?

Another BJ is rigged thread

That is a lot of sevens. How many hands have you played altogether, all time?

I got a question. If you are convinced MG or some other online BJ is rigged -

Why do you keep playing it?

Cheers,
SM

It looks like double exposure. Why did you not split your pair of 7's?

I saw an incredibly unlikely hand a few days ago. The dealer started off with 5 aces in a row, and then busted.

I've NEVER seen anything like that in my life!

Your bankroll appears to be going up on the last few hands - when you push & lose!! :what:

What on earth is going on there???

Is this sarcasm, or did you miss the timestamps?

KasinoKing...

Please be aware that money is going down all the way. Did not go up at all. It's more like 10, 9, 8, 7... 1. CON is kinda strange that way, your #1 hand is actually the last hand you played. 10 means the last 10th hand you played.

That was seriously something very disturbing... Kinda unfair that the dealer had 4 BJ's (almost 5) in 5 hands. IMPOSSIBLE!!! Devastated is what I feel.

What rotten luck. I always found C.O.N. BJ was pretty fair.

I bet you wouldn't describe it as Unfair & Impossible if it had been you who got the 5 blackjacks instead of the dealer!
That's gambling I'm afraid! ;)

I agree with you KasinoKing, but the thing is I have NEVER had more than 2 BJ's in a row anywhere before. This is a FACT.

If I were to get it, I would most probably put it up here too... I wouldn't say it being unfair but I'd say it's way IMPOSSIBLE. By the way, I've never said that CON was unfair. I was just asking what are the odds of that happening.

10 plays, dealer wins 7, you win 2, one push. Not a good run, but an impossibly long way from being impossible

4 blackjacks in a row? Doesn't sound very amazing to me, but what do I know, I only play slots:) Maybe equal to 4 rams on Thunderstruck? That doesn't even pay very much..

With large bets such as yours, you're bound to take some nasty punches now and then...

Don't get me wrong, I hate losing as much as you do, and I don't like to see anyone lose. I wish we could all just keep winning:D

Better luck next time!

Cheers,
SM

yes it is! ive only just started playing double exposure after being totally peed of with the regular BJ, i didnt know splitting the 7's was optimal play in this situation.

What a wally!

again, for those of us on the other side of the pond...:)

wally?? LOL

maybe someone could write a english to american dictionary...

i'm guesing "wally"= bonehead?

whatever it is, i'm laughing my ass off, as i know a guy named wally...lets just say he ain't too bright.

Its funny, but when something very unlikely happens in an online casino, the thought of a rigged game immediately creeps into everyone's minds. I was in Atlantic City earlier this week, and at one point, the dealer got 4 BJ's in a row, twice against my 20. If that had happened on line, it would have seemed mighty suspicious. Fortunately for me, I didn't run for the hills (like I probably should have), the dealer immediately got ice cold after the BJ's, and I ended up a couple of hundred dollars for that particular shoe.

6 cards should usually bust...

I got 3 BJ in a row today over at Phoenician, and the dealer at one point had 2 BJ's and 4 21's over a duration of 10 hands. :( That's not overly critical to me, that is... those runs. What's MORE important to me, is that when you run into a dealer who can't bust on a 6 card, moreover, ALWAYS wins with 6's, then that's where the problem lies.   I was keeping a stat today, for the amount of times the dealer had a 6, did he/she/it, win/lose/push. Frankly, it was QUITE ugly. The dealer won 23 times, lost 9 times, pushed 4 times. :eek2: Out of the 5 times I was in a position to double-up, I lost 4 times! I realize that this is a very small sample size, but if this keeps happening, I stop playing BJ for a little while (no hope, don't play).

Thank God I changed over to VP JoB, and was lucky enough to get 3 "4-of-a-kinds" in 20 minutes. :D
