This slot is unique since it can give you a crazy amount of free spins at a high multiplier *5. All it takes is you get the 5 scatters during normal play. Of course this is very hard, probably one of the harder slot to get 5 scatters on. But hitting 5 scatters happen at least. But when it happen at 'Rain Dance' you get 100 free spins at multiplier 5 and now the crazy part: Whenever you just get 3 scatters during those free spins, there will be another 100 free spins added. This is really an amazing reward. Chance for hitting 3 scatters is normally around 1 to 150 for these slots, so with just a little luck actually you will get a crazy number of respins as RobWin did. (I might post some math about this later since which is only of academic interest). And then it is not hard to reach the cap in this situation.

I did the math. If the probability for retrigger (3 scatters or more) is the same as Thunderstruck which is 1/143, then the average number of free spins, if you hit 5 scatters during normal game, will be 332 spins. Remember these are all at *5 multiplier. If probability for retrigger is 1/130 instead, then the average number of spins increases to about 450 spins. And if this value 1/120 then it is about 600 spins.

So because the slot is designed this way (giving crazy amout of free spins at multiplier 5) there really is needed a maximum win cap. But this is the only slot I know of, where this is necessary. If the cap was to be removed and the slot must have payout% below 100%, then the paytable would be really really low and it would be damn boring and anyone not hitting the 5 scatters would walk away losing big time.

But I like the wierd way this feature work. If you dont like it - play one of the millions other slots where retriggers only gives 15 free spins. However I still find it stupid that they are not using total-bet size as cap (2000*total bet) instead of the line bet. But since I prefer to play 5 lines at most slot, I praise this stupidity, since the cap for me then would be 4 timers higher than for someone playing 20 lines, but with same total bet.

X-axis is the probablity for retrigger (the reciprocal of it). So if x-axis is 130, then the probability for retrigger is 1/130. Since we dont know this probability is for this slot, I made a plot for the average number of free spins, for a range of values for x.

I was playing on Bodog today and betting $2.00 on Raindance and hit the free spins. All five scatters at once for 100 free spins. Well while I was in the free spin mode I hit the free spins again 6 times and yes I said six times for a total of 700 FREE SPINS........Damn.....

Well this was a first for me, the total pay topped out at $4,000.00 stopping the free spin mode with 273 spins left to go, I guess RTG has this set to stop at a certain dollar amount no matter how many free spins you get or else it could run for days I guess. I watched the free spins turn for one and a half hours...1.5 hours...un-freaking-real.....Yea Bodog.....:notworthy

I have not even come close to hitting these five scatters again on Raindance at any of the RTG casinos since then...

Got them twice at inet where I was cutoff because the max payout was reached. Both times my bet was 1.00 and it cut me off at 2000.00. Had over 400 spins left on one and around 200 on the other. I didn't mind because I was aware of that rule. I would have been really bummed if I hadn't read about it beforehand.

During the last 12 months I have hit 5 scatters about 10 times at Inetbet (i love Raindance, only slot i play lol) one time I maxed out at $4000 with about 60 games still to play, another time I was only playing $0.40 and got about 3 retriggers but still only got $440 , another time got 1 retrigger on $2 bet, ended up with $1600 and all the other times I havent had any retriggers. I got them twice in december, one on a $2 bet and one on $1 bet and actually ended up with same amount for both - $550. I actually feel more ripped off when I dont get any retriggers than I did when my play was stopped due to max.

Ha, I didn't realize this was a 2 year old thread unitl now. Raindance is the only rtg game I play, and I only hit the 5 scatters once (that's what keeps me coming back whenever I have the chance).

I only hit the 5scatters once and got one retrigger, but still didn't max out (it was pretty close though and a nice score). That wa.s probably in 2007
