Monday night I could not sleep so I lurked here for a bit. Awful lonely here at 4am so decided to put a piddly $35 into Vegas 7. Cashed out $600 Tuesday Morning.

Bored to tears so mindlessly watch a local tv program that said you could go online and enter to win two tickets to Jay Leno appearing at New Mexico's newest casino/resort, Buffalo Thunder. Thought what the hell, give it a try.

They called the house today. We Won!

Then got our weekly cashback freebie from Lions and got it to a nice even two hundred dollars and cashed it.

So by my math, the Swedish Peanut and I are going to Santa Fe on Saturday with $800 from $35 to be wined, dined and all around entertained. What a hoot!

Tonight is the Power Ball, I have never once bought into this thing but may give it a go. :)

I will update the thread with our impressions of the new Casino.

That is so great - have a great time. I want to rub too :D

So I guess you're alarm will permanently be set to 4am?! Or feed lots of beer to the Swedish Peanut so he snores lots and wakes you up :)

Congratulations:thumbsup: It's always more fun to deposit a small amount and be able to cashout a nice win! Hey, have you been to the Route 66 Casino? We were just there...been there a couple of times just wondered if you have any thoughts on it?

I'm keeping one eye on you at all times Jas.

Heineken is the key for sure. But it is not snoring. He talks in his sleep. Most often in some language I do not understand which sucks big time. If I am going to be disturbed, I want to at least catch some gossip or a secret. I mean, what if he has buried three previous wives or something similar?

We have been there a few times. About a twenty minute drive. We both love their buffet. Outstanding! I saw Willie Nelson in their theater last year and when the quards made us put down our cameras Willie overruled them and allowed the audience to film the whole show. I love the theme they have with all of the neon signs. I have never walked out "up" on the slots but will certainly go again.

Have you been to Sandia? Really nice! Best one in the state I think but that could change for me on Saturday.

We like it too...we've hit a couple hundred on quarter slots but then end up putting it back in:D...let me know how Sandia is..I keep seeing the signs but we haven't taken the time to go there yet. Maybe on the next trip through there:thumbsup: Good luck on Saturday!!

Update

We certainly had a pleasant time of it. :)

The casino was easy to find and located just a few miles past the well known landmark of Camel Rock.

They certainly designed it with a Southwestern flavor and it suites the environment nicely.

Now for the gaming. The slots were so freakin tight I think we were lucky to escape without blood loss. And none of the machines had a percentage payout sticker which I always thought was required. Maybe that is not the case in New Mexico? Hmmmm. Well, the payouts were dismal. Jonne was able to recoup some of our slot losses at the tables so all in all we were down $210.00 which is quite realistic for dinner (nice buffet) and a sold out show.

On to the show.

Leno was so very funny. 90 minutes of non-stop humor. He is very witty and comfortable with his craft. Very topical with current affairs and a lot of politics. And speaking of that, when we sat down it was still early and there were very few fannies in the seats at least down in the front rows were we were. ;) From my aisle seat on 4th row I noticed the 3 guys sitting front row center and thought hmmmm, the middle one looks mighty familiar. I thought it was our Govenor, Bill Richardson. So up I go and sure enough it is him, sitting dead center.

He has been so much in the news lately what with his Obama appointment to head the Commerce department and his having to withdraw his nomination while he is being investigated by a grand jury on some ethics issues.

So what does this life long Republican who has many family members that could be considered to the right of God on many issues have to say to the very Democratic Govenor of the great state of New Mexico when she finally gets the chance? Well I stick out my hand, look him square in the eye and say "We just love you down in Albuquerque". When I got back to my seat and told Jonne, he called me a PUTZ. :)

Well that's it for me. I have included a youtube short that will fill you in on our govenor for those of a mind to see what another famous comedian thinks of him. :p

Toodles!
